He wanted through inspection of his 3.58 acres, common walled in area and garage. I started in walled area. While I was inspecting I also photographed his gates and drainage holes to send to Jill for fencing info. No finds. There was very minimal amount of work needed to do in backyard. The acreage I surveyed had very tall brush. So I used transects experience and paced back and forward to front and of property line. I did find a couple snake skins but no active snake encounters. The garage last night had a rattlesnake in it, but this morning he had the fire department come out and catch the snake. Which was a Mojave rattlesnake. For the estimate the customer will need both gates done. 1 single and a double gate. He had a total of 9 drainage holes. 6 standard, 2 horizontal and narrow holes and 1 double hole. Also noticed 2 breaches in concrete wall. 1 on side near gate and the other near a drainage hole. The customer appreciated that we were able to go that south and had pleasant experience. After driving to the location I learned the homeowner had put some small breathing holes in the lid of the bucket. Upon safely removing the lid the species was determined to be a Blacktailed Rattlesnake. Shortly thereafter the snake was relocated further along the same mountain the homeowners property resided under a concealed rocky overhang. Increased activity due to recent monsoon rains could potentially explain the snakes presence.
