Scottsdale | 85266 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Received a call about rattlesnake in backyard. Customer said that RS was out the previous week and that she noticed the snake in the same area as the first one. When I arrived I noticed a subadult atrox in ambush underneath a play slide in the middle of an astroturf lawn. Utilized tongs to capture snake and bucket with no incident. Customer pointed out where she initially found snake which was a small corner of the home that was underneath a drainage pipe on the north side. Inspected rest of the yard but found no other snakes. Yard was large but neat and tidy. Customer said she had landscapers trim Dodonaea bushes around the perimeter. Customer stated RS gave her a fencing estimate and that she was going to call after I left to make appointment for installation. I suspect snake entered through the side gate on the west side of home as it offered the least resistance though snake may have entered through any number of drainage holes in the wall that were covered in 1/2” mesh. |
