11:00 PM		 Phoenix 85085 Mojave Rattlesnake Received a call regarding a rattlesnake on a front patio. The customer stated the neighbor attempted to contain the snake in a bucket, but it may or may not have been in the bucket. Arrived home and went into the south-facing entryway, where there was a covered patio. I noticed a snake in ambush on an east facing was somewhat behind a 5-gallon bucket that was on its side. Upon closer inspection, I noticed it was a scutulatus in ambush which surprised me as the home was east of North Valley Parkway and the nearest habitat was almost exclusively mountain terrain. Captured snake using tongs and bucketed it with no issue. Customers stated they noticed the snake initially in the general location where it was near the front door. The area would have plenty of shade most of the day and early morning. Performed inspection of the front and backyard with no other snakes found. There was washes running north and east of home. The backyard has a brick wall all around. The side yard in the east has a lattice brick for drainage and side yard on the west has a gate. The family has three medium-sized dogs which are often out back. Offered a free fencing quote and they accepted.

6:00 AM		 Phoenix 85083 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The caller reported a snake at the front door. This is the 2nd snake in 2 weeks. The snake was removed without incident. No other snakes recovered. Did see a roadrunner eating a WDB on the main road in.

9:00 AM		 Phoenix 85085 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Caller reported a rattlesnake at the front door. Upon arrival, the snake was already under a bucket on the driveway. I was able to quickly contain the snake in my bucket and provided room-temperature water. The property is free from excessively overgrown plants. However, they do have numerous plants in the rear yard with a great deal of water, but all in an elevated position. The front door is pretty deeply recessed and was probably just a temporary stop for thermoregulation. No other snakes were removed.

4:00 PM		 Phoenix 85020 Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake The caller reported a small rattlesnake in the front yard. When I arrived the homeowner walked me to the snake. The snake, immediately identified as a Speckled Rattlesnake, was coiled at the root system of a mesquite tree. The homeowner was watering and it was clear the snake was enjoying the added humidity and cool ground. I was able to quickly and safely capture the snake without incident. No other snakes were recovered from the property.

8:00 AM		 Phoenix 85027 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake An employee at a warehouse called after seeing a rattlesnake near some stacked-up pallets. By the time I arrived, the snake had moved into the shade of a large trailer. The warehouse was adjacent to Deer Valley Airport. The only small patch of native habitat nearby was part of the airport and not accessible to me. Nobody that I talked to at the facility had ever seen a snake on the property before. I had to drive down the road a little over a mile before I got to a patch of state trust land where I could release the snake.

12:30 PM		 Phoenix 85024 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was out back with his dog when his dog went to drink its water and it suddenly jumped back. He saw then that the dog had been bitten by a rattlesnake. He got the dog to the vet and called. After a long search, I found the snake in some thick saw grass covered pretty well and hard to see. The home had a view fence and had some desert behind it. A lot of the desert behind their home has become 2000 new homes. They still have quite a bit of desert on the other side of their home just outside the community.

12:30 PM		 Phoenix 85020 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner called about a “large rattlesnake” under her bathroom sink. When I arrived I discovered that it was actually a large Gophersnake that was stuck to two glue traps and attempting to eat a large mouse that was stuck to another glue trap. I was able to free the snake relatively easily with cooking spray and the snake was unharmed. Home is right up against a desert preserve and the homeowner said that rats are able to access her bathroom sink via faulty piping under the home so the snake must have found its way inside the home that way.

11:30 AM		 Phoenix 85044 Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake One of the workers at this community spotted a rattlesnake coiled under the lip of the building. When I arrived they had the snake in a bucket in the sun. They said the snake was slithering onto the hot asphalt. I don’t know how true that was. They then said they put it in a bucket but the bucket was in the sun. When I opened the bucket the gravid female speck was limp. She never came back, either. This community is on south mountain preserve. The side where the snake was backs right up to a hillside.

1:30 AM		 Phoenix 85085 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Security from WL Gore called about a rattlesnake on their property. When I arrived the Western Diamondback was slithering through the parking lot, looking pretty lost. The area is surrounded by desert but is undergoing development so the animals are likely being displaced at this point.

12:00 AM		 Phoenix 85020 Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake Received a call about a rattlesnake at Pointe Hilton. Arrived and met a security guard who escorted me to where the snake was. I observed a pyrrhus in ambush at the mouth of what appeared to be a deep cave into the mountain that was just outside of several room doors. There was a support pillar just in front of the cave, and the snake was at an awkward angle to approach directly. I chose to approach the snake from the side (least direct but closest access) and the snake slipped my tongs and went deep into the cave to where I was able to hear it rattle but not see the snake. Spent approximately 30 minutes observing the cave but snake did not come out. Informed the security guard to call the hotline if the snake returned. Received a dispatch later that the snake returned and I went back to the location. The snake was again in ambush on a different portion of the rock and was able to capture and bucket successfully. Performed a quick inspection of the area and no other snakes were found.

6:00 AM		 Phoenix 85083 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called us after having a close encounter with a rattlesnake on her back porch. She was letting her small dog out when she saw the snake near the sliding glass door, just before accidentally stepping on it. She was startled but the snake did not attempt to strike at her or her dog. The snake retreated behind a wicker couch where it stayed until I arrived. The home was across the street from a large mountain preserve, and the backyard was virtually empty. It was wide open with no landscaping. There was an RV gate on the side with a large gap underneath. The shade of the back porch and the wicker patio furniture were about the only cover available for the snake. I did not find any other snakes.

8:00 PM		 Phoenix 85050 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner’s dog alerted them to a western diamondback that was curled up in the middle of the turf in their backyard. When I arrived, the snake was in the exact same spot. The snake was contained and taken just north of the property and released into a large pile of illegally dumped yard debris that other animals had clearly been using as a burrow.

12:30 PM		 Phoenix 85085 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Security personnel from the W.L. Gore & Associates campus called us after finding a rattlesnake coiled up in the shade near the back door of an office building. The snake had just consumed a large meal and had not moved from where it was discovered. The campus is located just east of the I-17 not far from the Sonoran Mountain Preserve. The immediate area surrounding the property is developed and has a lot of traffic, but there is also plenty of native desert close enough to be easily accessed by the snake.

12:30 PM		 Phoenix 85042 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This was at an elementary school. One of the young kids saw it while playing on the playground. This was a really large rattlesnake. It went into a rodent hole but only coiled up right in the entrance so I was able to grab it. The school itself did not have any vegetation or cover around. They had two large trees. This snake found the hole under that. The school was a block from South Mountain Preserve. They said they couldn’t pay so I just went and grabbed it.

6:00 PM		 Phoenix 85050 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This was a previous fencing customer who noticed a baby rattlesnake in the front yard of her home while taking the garbage out. The snake was in the same location when I arrived. Easily grabbed and relocated just north of the neighborhood into a rodent burrow that was shaded by bushes.

9:00 PM		 Phoenix 85085 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Received a call about a rattlesnake at an apartment complex. Arrived at a brand-new complex that wasn’t there last year and met callers outside in the parking lot. Callers had a stockpot on top of the snake. Removed the pot and noted a neonate atrox. Used large tweezers to capture and bucket with no issue. Performed a brief inspection of the immediate area and no other snakes were found.

6:30 AM		 Phoenix 85028 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The owner of a home in Phoenix called after her dogs alerted her to a large rattlesnake in her backyard. This was a 1-acre yard with a wall all the way around. There are gates on either side of the home and a few drain holes near the front. The yard has a pool and irrigated landscaping, but there is a lot of wide open space. Around the wall is a lot of built-up clutter, including brick and wood piles, a garden, several old, large brush piles, and a chicken coop. The two dogs are a large breed, but very nice. I found the snake under a pallet near where the dogs had seen it earlier. I then walked the property but did not find any other snakes.

It then went and coiled up under a thick rosemary bush and that’s where I got it. This community center has well watered grass and vegetation and is across the street from the preserve.

7:00 AM		 Phoenix 85083 Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake The homeowner's son stepped out onto the back porch of their home in North Phoenix early this morning and saw a rattlesnake near the sliding door. He was letting a dog outside that the family was pet-sitting. It had just spent its first night in the house. The snake did not try to bite either the boy or the dog. The family watched the snake closely from a window until I arrived. The home is very close to a mountain preserve. The block wall surrounding the yard had several drains and there were gaps in the gate on the side of the home. The yard was very tidy. There was plenty of landscaping, but it was all very well maintained and did not offer many hiding places for a snake. I searched the yard but did not find any other snakes.

8:00 AM		 Phoenix 85044 Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake This community is being remodeled, so there are a lot of workers and things lying around. One of the workers spotted the snake coiled up against the building. He put the snake in a bucket to move it away from the workers and it slithered out and went under the lip of another building. I was able to get the snake out front here. This side of the community backs up to the preserve.

1:00 AM		 Phoenix 85054 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Security at the American Express corporate campus in North Phoenix called after seeing a small rattlesnake in a courtyard. I had to search for a little while after arriving, as the snake had moved from its original position. The courtyard where it was found was dotted with landscaping. I found the neonate Western Diamondback a short time later moving along a wall. I continued to search the immediate area for any possible siblings but did not find any. A week earlier, I had removed an adult female and another neonate from the same courtyard, so I released this one into the same area that I released the others.

10:00 AM		 Phoenix 85045 Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake Homeowner called about a Speckled Rattlesnake curled up on her back porch next to the door. This home is no stranger to snakes as they have had us out to remove them many times in the past. The home is backed right up against the base of a hill in South Mtn Preserve. The yard is relatively large but free of hiding spots aside from the north-facing back porch which is really the only area a snake could survive the heat of the day this time of year.

He has only lived in the state for a month and this is the second rattlesnake he has seen on his property. The home backs up to a section of State Trust Land. There is a block wall surrounding the backyard, but there are drains in the block, and side gates with gaps. No other snakes were found.

7:00 AM		 Phoenix 85048 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This is a fence customer of ours. It is a preschool. This morning when checking the playground to make sure it was safe a teacher spotted the baby rattlesnake coiled on the turf. They weren't able to watch it and it wasn’t there when I arrived. I looked under everything and throughout the whole playground. There was an empty space between the turf and the corner of the building. I lifted the turf and saw a tiny hole. I poured water in the hole and the neonate came out. Behind the school, there is a little chunk of desert and even more across the street.

The home backs up to a mountain preserve and has a view fence in the back. The breezeway had an iron gate with gaps on each side. After the snake was removed, I searched the property for more, but none were found.

When I arrived, it was coiled up in the shade next to a ceramic cat. The snake likely came directly from off the mountain and in through a large gap under the back door. This is the second time she has had a snake in the same place. No other snakes were found.

The home didn’t have much cover in the rest of the yard but this area was shady and covered. The home backed up to south mountain preserve.

The snake was already secured in a bucket and being held in the nice cool office while I was on my way. Plenty of snakes on this property as a wash runs right through the middle of the complex leading to multiple encounters for the residents throughout any given year.

They said that the night prior they had just watched a Rattlesnake Solutions YouTube video about baby rattlesnakes being everywhere. This home was very close to the 51 and 101 in a development just across the canal from a small section of native desert, and this was the first rattlesnake that the homeowners have ever had on their property. I checked the front and back yards for additional snakes, but none were found. This was a very small neonate, and I was a little surprised not to find others.

3:00 AM		 Phoenix 85054 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Burnes Pest Elimination was called on behalf of the American Express office campus in North Phoenix after security reported seeing a baby rattlesnake. When I arrived, a member of the security team escorted me to the snake which was just outside of the entrance to one of the buildings. He explained to me that someone on the previous shift had found the snake and placed sticky traps around it to keep it from escaping, and by the time he arrived, the snake was completely stuck to several of the traps. He was able to retrieve a bottle of cooking oil from the dining facility, and I gently worked the snake free. Prior to release, I gave it a rinse with some fresh water. No other snakes were found.

After capturing the snake, I searched the rest of the yard but did not find any other snakes. The house is very close to the Fireside at Norterra and a large desert preserve. The yard was clean, with well-maintained landscaping, some of which I recommended be trimmed around the base. There was a block wall on all three sides. There was a gate on each side, both with a gap, and a drain on one side. I looked at the garage door as well. There was a small gap on one side, and one in the center under joint in the driveway. The home has two small dogs and a two-year-old child that they want to keep safe.

This area is always an odd one when I get snakes over here. There is a large canal dividing the desert on one side and nothing but homes and businesses on the other. I took the baby rattlesnake back to the desert side.

6:30 PM		 Phoenix 85024 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The owner of a home in North Phoenix called after finding a baby rattlesnake stuck in a glue trap in his garage. He was unwilling to pay for the service and was just going to leave the snake there until he could find someone who would take it. I was just finishing a call about 10 minutes away and offered to remove the snake at no cost. The homeowner provided me with some cooking oil, and I was able to free the snake after several minutes. The snake was uncomfortable and scared, but it was not injured. After it was free from the trap, I rinsed off the oil with some water and took the snake to a nearby preserve for relocation.

The home was located between North Mountain and Shaw Butte. It was an old property with very dense, heavily watered, jungle-like landscaping and decades-old clutter surrounding a pool in the backyard. After catching the snake, I searched for others but did not find any. The homeowner is aware that his property is providing a lot of cover and a lot of water and it sits at the base of the mountain so there could be multiple snakes anywhere on the property at any given time.

5:00 PM		 Phoenix 85045 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was out on the back patio for a while sitting on the couch and when she went in she glanced behind the couch and saw the rattlesnake coiled up. The yard didn’t have much in it but they did have watered grass. The home also had a large drainage in front of it that led straight to South Mountain. They had a view fence with a closed-down golf course behind them.

10:30 PM		 Phoenix 85018 Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake The owner of an ABNB on Camelback Mountain called after one of his guests reported being bitten by a baby rattlesnake. About an hour had passed since the bite when I was contacted, and another 45 minutes before I arrived at the residence. No one was home when I arrived because they were all still at the hospital, but thanks to very specific information from the homeowner, I located the snake fairly quickly. It was very close to the area where the encounter took place. The large home was high on the side of Camelback Mountain and had a lot of atypical features compared to most other homes in the valley, consisting of a lot of rocky nooks and water features. The "yard" was very steep and integrated into the mountain. I did my best to search the rest of the property, but I did not find any other snakes. I received word that the woman who was bitten was doing well but was still hospitalized several hours after the bite.

This business complex has many buildings on campus and this small snake managed to find its way inside snd get into an office in the middle of the building. The snake was captured and relocated down the street back in the desert.

10:30 AM		 Phoenix 85050 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowners spotted a snake coiled under their hose on the side of their home. We went out to this home six days ago after the cleaning people spotted a rattlesnake several hours earlier, and we didn’t locate it. When I got there the snake was no longer by the hose. I searched in the closest bush and it was coiled underneath. Then I searched some more bushes close by that were very dense and I found another. The home is right next to a drainage that leads to the desert. I recommend trimming the heavy vegetation.
