Phoenix | 85045 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | This homeowner is a frequent customer of ours and called when she saw the rattlesnake on her back patio earlier this morning. When I arrived the snake moved underneath a plant shelf but I was easily able to move it and get the snake. I checked the rest of the yard for other possible visitors and the homeowner is aware of the attractions she has on the property. She called us 9 times last year so she is well informed on the aspects of her yard that draw the snakes in from off the mountain. She is going to be in touch with Brandon about officially getting fencing done. |

Phoenix | 85045 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner was getting into his car in the driveway and spotted the rattlesnake on the edge of the carport in the front yard. The home has a drainage right next to it that leads to the preserve and their backyard backs right up to it. The snake had a large bolus in it likely a rabbit based on the size. |

Phoenix | 85085 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The owner of a home in North Phoenix called after seeing a rattlesnake in the shady corner of his back porch. When I arrived, he directed me to a small refrigerator and pointed out that you could see a little bit of the snake sticking out from underneath. I gently tilted the fridge about 45degrees, resting the edge up against the wall, and found that there was a second snake right beside the first. Once secure, I began a search of the yard. The large property had a view fence with DIY snake fencing overlooking a desert preserve. The mesh was installed well but was a little low in several places. The side gate was also snake-proofed, and although not perfect, I am not convinced that these two snakes entered through any sort of gap in the fence. I asked the homeowner if the gate had been open for any length of time recently and he explained that just last week, he had a landscaping crew going in and out of the yard for several hours, with the gate likely being open the entire time. No other snakes were found. |

Phoenix | 85054 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called after seeing a rattlesnake in her backyard. While on the phone she sent me pictures and the snake was trying to leave the yard but there was mesh fencing on the view fence were it was trying to get out. When I arrived the snake was still activity trying to escape the yard, I got it in my bucket and looked around. The current fencing is the perfect example of how improper fence installation can create a trap for the snake. The sides of the yard were walled in but the back had a view fence. The view fence portion with the mesh seemed to be done relatively okay but there was still some gaps, but the bigger issue was the gates. The gates were definitely the entry points to the yard and one side had no mesh but still big enough gaps for a snake to get through. The other sides gate had very poorly done fencing over the much bigger gaps and this snake made its way in from one of them and eventually found itself stuck in the yard. This house is backed up right next to a large wash and some open desert and the snake was wanting to get back out into the wash but simply couldn't. |

Phoenix | 85044 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | While one of the company's security guards was walking around the outside of the complex he noticed a neonate Western Diamondback coiled in a corner of a concrete staircase leading up to the main entrance of the building. He then quickly notified his boss who then called us and had the guard who found it keep an eye on it. Upon arrival the first thing I noticed was the size of the property it was a massive building that was right up against the nearby preserve after locating the security guard he then led me to the neonate Diamondback which was still in the same spot. I then used my tongs to secure the snake in the bucket. I suspect the snake may have come from the nearby preserve that borders the property in search of food. |

Phoenix | 85020 | Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake | The homeowner was in her front yard picking up some weeds when she almost stepped on the coiled rattlesnake. The snake then slithered up a small brick wall and that's where I caught it. It was a very nice rainy day. The home was a straight shot down from a large drainage on the preserve. The home had some heavy lantanas in the front yard where the snake was coiled. |

8:30 AM |
Phoenix | 85085 | Sonoran Gophersnake | The homeowner was in her backyard, cleaning up when she noticed the snake tangled in some netting. Thankfully, the snake was still alive but looked like it had been struggling for a while, and some of the netting was very tight on the snake. I was able to cut the snake free with minor scale damage, but nothing it can’t survive. The homeowner has a really nice garden, and she says she gets rats, so she opted to keep the snake in her backyard. I made sure she tossed all the rest of the netting before the snake stayed there. There is natural desert behind this home and in and around the rest of the homes in the community. |

Phoenix | 85048 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner was cleaning up his back patio when he saw the large rattlesnake coiled under a table. The snake had a big bolus likely a rabbit. It wasn’t going anywhere fast. The home had a grass lawn that he was trying to protect from bunnies. The home backed up to a part of South Mountain Preserve. |

Phoenix | 85050 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called after finding a baby rattlesnake coiled up in the corner of his garage near the door. We had been called out to the same house about 6 weeks ago for a small snake seen in the garage, but it was no longer there at the time of the inspection. The garage was clean, with very few hiding places. There was a gap under the garage door in the corner near where the snake was sitting. It is likely this was how it entered. I searched the front and back yards as well but did not find any other snakes. The home was just down the street from a large area of native desert. |
