Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Caller identified a western diamondback in the garage. She was alerted to the snake’s presence by the rattle. The snake had entered the garage in recent hours, as it was left open for some time today. I immediately located the snake and removed a few items preventing capture. The snake was coiled behind a ladder and a bicycle. Removed without incident. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | This is a fence customer of ours. They contacted the hotline with a report of a snake climbing into the yard over the snake fencing (installed by RS 6yrs ago). The customer provided an image that was confirmed to be a western diamondback. Upon arrival, the snake was stretched between a bougainvillea bush and the inner perimeter wall. The snake was captured without incident. Upon inspection of the exterior perimeter wall and fencing, it is safe to conclude the snake utilized rogue branches that had penetrated the perforations of the fencing. The client and Jonathan walked the fence and clipped the branches protruding through. In addition, a thorough inspection was done and no additional snakes were located. A hole was observed on the far side of the home in the drainage cinder block, likely caused by someone pushing a hose through it to the front yard. |

Scottsdale | 85266 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The client called the hotline with a report of a rattlesnake near the rear sliding glass door. The client and his small dogs passed within the immediate vicinity of the snake and it went unnoticed until the snake alerted by rattling. The client had retrieved a shovel with the intent to dispatch the snake, but decided it was “too large” to attempt to kill. The western diamondback was removed without incident and no further activity was found. The snake was likely overwintering in a drainage pipe that was up against the home in the side yard. The pipe was about a foot or two under the earth. This was only about ten feet from where the snake was seen and it was the only deep cover around. There is a lot of desert patches throughout this community. |

Oro Valley | 85737 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | A young person called saying they wanted us to come out and move a snake “before (their father) killed it”. The homeowner had been working in his garage when a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake was observed trying to climb some cardboard near a folding table that had been set against the Eastern wall. The snake had partially retreated behind the table but was coiled and easy to tong into the bucket. This was a small adult male. Maybe 3-5 yrs? |

Glendale | 85310 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner was picking up a package from the front porch when she noticed a rattlesnake behind a large ceramic vase. There is only one house in between this one and the dry New River riverbed. The home is also situated very close to the Thunderbird Conservation Park. After the capture, I searched for additional snakes as well as possible places where this one may have spent the winter. The backyard had a large gap under the gate, plenty of watered landscaping, and a pool. Notably, there was a large shed that sat slightly raised off the ground. This seemed like a great hiding place, but I was unsure if it was suitable for long-term protection from the cold. I did not find any other snakes. |

Marana | 85652 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called for a extremely young western diamondback found in their garage where there was a gap in the seal. The snake was captured and relocated. Homeowner selected fencing on the form, I did not speak to them about it nor did I see the backyard while at the property, although it is a brand new cookie cutter housing development. |

Tucson | 85747 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called regarding a rattlesnake that fell off the inside of her garage door when she opened it. She called us and I quickly responded to her location to relocate the snake. The homeowner is no stranger to rattlesnakes and has frequent visits in her backyard, as a wash runs directly on the other side of her property. The juvenile Western Diamondback was relocated to a nearby wash back into its respective habitat, into a packrat nest under deep cover. Instead of grabbing a shovel, the homeowner recognized the important ecological role rattlesnakes play and called us to remove it. |

Litchfield Park | 85340 | Longnosed Snake | A house sitter called and said she had a snake stuck in a hole in the side of the home she was staying at. I arrived and found a longnosed snake stuck several inches up into a very small hole in a metal bracket on the underside of the stucco. The snake had been there for several hours and seemed unable to back out or move further up into the wall. I used some cooking oil and very gently and very slowly worked the snake out. It took about 10 minutes. The snake came out cold and stressed but did not seem to have any injuries at all. |

Scottsdale | 85254 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | This community had eyes on this snake for a while as it moved from the backyard of one home across a couple of driveways before coiling up in a bush in the front yard of another home. When I arrived there was a small crowd keeping an eye on the snake. The large male atrox was extremely calm and did not resist. Given where this home was, my only conclusion was that he swam across the canal to get to this neighborhood so I gave him a ride back. |

85264 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | This was at a rental property that does retreats surrounded by nothing but good desert habitat. Yesterday, when they were getting ready for an event inside, what used to be a garage area with garage doors, they spotted a rattlesnake between some chairs. She thought it was dead, so she just left it. Today, when they went to remove the snake because they’re having their event, they noticed it wasn’t there. It was coiled underneath the chairs, so they knew it was alive, and they called me to come and remove it. The garage doors did have some gaps where it could get in and there were areas within this garage that it could have hidden for the majority of the winter without being seen. The whole property was on a desert hillside with miles and miles of desert surrounding it.

Glendale | 85310 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | There has been a mystery guest at the Arizona Model Railroading Society building who has been knocking over the model trains and causing havoc all over the layout for the past couple of weeks. Though they thought it was some neighborhood kids, the club members shrugged it off and put things back in place each week. Today the puzzling character revealed itself by laying on top of what is now dubbed "Rattlesnake Mountain." We were dispatched and able to safely remove the snake from his miniature mountain into a large, desert mountain preserve. |

Mesa | 85207 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner found the snake in the road out in front of his house last night. He put it in a bucket and called me today to come get it. Behind his home was a rocky hillside but that was the only desert habitat nearby. This was a small hill surrounded by homes and a highway. A few blocks away was some more desert not much that surrounded Mesa community college . I wouldn’t assume this area has many rattlesnake left because of how little habitat is around. He said the trash guy came yesterday and it was after that when he saw the neonate. I wonder if the snake had been transported to this area on accident. Either way it could not survive long in this area without being seen again so I took it to a better area. |

It was hidden pretty well, so it was a great spot. She said she does go in her garage every day, but it had a lot of stuff in it, so the snake could hide pretty well. The garage did have gaps underneath that the snake could fit under. The home had a drainage behind it that led to the open desert. |

They saw it the day before and said it was still moving this morning. They sent me a pin and I headed that way. The snake was in some desert on the edge of a community. The snake had probably gotten stuck to the trap in a garage and was tossed. I was able to safely get the snake off the trap with only minor scale damage that it will survive.

Oro Valley | 85737 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | This customer called about a snake in a glue trap. They had been working on repairing a rodent-damaged garage door and had removed the bottom seal. This afternoon, they found a snake in one of their glue traps. The snake was a female Western Diamondback Rattlesnake that looked to be about a year old and the upper 1/3 of the snake was caught in the trap. I took the snake home this time because the way the snake was caught made the process a litttle more risky and i wanted to take my time. Snake is now free from glue trap and i did my best to remove as much oil as i could safely. The capture site was along a canyon/wash on the slope of a hill. There looks to be a rocky area further up the grade and that is where i plan to release the snake in the morning. Took the snake home to work on removing the glue trap safely. Will release in the morning at a rocky area i saw up the hill from the site of capture. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Homeowner called about a rattlesnake in his garage. When I arrived, the western diamondback was curled up in the corner closest to the garage door just beside a shelf. The homeowner did say that he had his garage open for a little bit yesterday, so it is very likely that with the warm and wet weather we have had, the snake could’ve been hanging out around the outside of the house and snuck in, or it has been here for weeks. No way to be sure. I took the snake across the street and released it into the deep cover of a large packrat nest underneath a Palo verde tree. Cave Creek. |

Wickenburg | 85390 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called about a baby rattlesnake that she happened to see crawl into a hole on her property. The 5-acre property was located west of Wickenburg in a very flat and sandy area with a lot of Creosote scrub. There was a pond on the property surrounded by a small riparian area which included several large packrat nests. I arrived and was able to flush the snake out with a little bit of water from a hose. I searched the property for the mother and or siblings but did not find any. The temperature at the time of capture was in the mid 50's but the daytime highs were close to 80 degrees. |

The home was across the street from a lot of desert. |
