Very clean yard with little vegetation and no junk etc. They have a grass lawn where the rattlesnakes were found and it was quite wet. I noticed some junk concrete just outside the fence line. It was in the direction they retreated to. I searched under the concrete but found nothing. About 20 feet from the back of the property is a large pallo verde tree with a large pack rat nest. It is a possible estivation site. I was unable to locate any snakes or see any signs of any in the pack rat nest. It was a large nest and I did not excavate the whole nest. I flooded a dozen holes in both the front and back yard with no luck. My guess is that there is an estivation site nearby and they were coming into the yard to get a drink from the irrigated lawn. |
