The homeowner is no stranger to rattlesnakes and has frequent visits in her backyard, as a wash runs directly on the other side of her property. The juvenile Western Diamondback was relocated to a nearby wash back into its respective habitat, into a packrat nest under deep cover. Instead of grabbing a shovel, the homeowner recognized the important ecological role rattlesnakes play and called us to remove it. |

The area has rocky landscaping and well-watered bushes with drip systems spaced throughout. An employee was watching the snake, which had moved from the parking lot to a shady bush, where she was half concealed, taking in some dappled sunlight. The snake appears to be a youngish adult maybe 3-5 year old and female. A Western Diamondback Rattlesnake. Her coloration is very pretty and “high red”. The snake has been eating well and looks happy and healthy. Prettiest atrox of 2026 candidate. |
