Phoenix 85048 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The rattlesnake was hanging out up against the house by a leaking hose. When I got there the snake was gone. I looked everywhere and watered out a near by hole. I thought it went through a wall gap into the neighbors yard. I told them to call me when they see it. About 30 minutes after I left it was by the leaking hose again. I think it had went up into the foundation of the house before. The home backs up to a run down golf course and some desert around.

Phoenix 85048 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner spotted a baby rattlesnake peaking out from a pot in the back yard. This pot was high but there was stuff to climb. I was out at this house about two weeks ago for a pregnant female western diamondback. That snake was never found. There was a big wall gap we suspected she went into but she never came out with water. So we decided to try and water out the wall gap again and she came out along with some sheds of babies. I think the brick is hollow and there are more babies in there but we couldn’t flush them out. The home has a view fence and is next to a drainage that leads to the mountain.

Phoenix 85048 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Received a call about a snake in a pool. Arrived at property and was escorted to backyard by customer. Customer stated they watched snake from balcony but lost sight of it. Customer said they didn’t think it got out of pool. Opened filter basket lid and observed a neonate atrox wrapped around center post. Utilized large tweezers to capture and bucket with no issue. Performed property inspection and pointed out places where snake could seek refuge. Only one point of entrance into backyard which was a side gate on west end of property. Asked if customer would be interested in free fencing estimate and customer declined. No other snakes found on property.

Phoenix 85048 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowners where out back with there dogs when they heard a rattle and saw the snake by a cactus in the back yard. The dog had spooked the snake but didn’t get close. The snake went into the center of the cactus and I got it out from there. The home had a large back yard with home made snake fencing that was not the right size mesh or down all the way and the gates were not done. They had a view fence and the preserve was right behind it. In there back yard they had a little pond and lots of vegetation.

They didn’t call me for another three hours. When I checked the same bush, the snake was coiled under some leaf litter. It was an overcast day with light, intermittent rain. The home has a large drainage area next to it and a desert hillside behind it. The vegetation in the yard is well maintained. The property has a view fence and a single gate.

Captured with little effort. Customer stated they were alerted to its presence by their dog. Although the dog has never been snake-trained, it has a distinct bark when it detects rattlesnakes near the yard. Customer is a good candidate for fencing.

The snake was released into deep cover in a wash away from homes at a nearby trailhead in Ahwatukee.

Phoenix 85048 Coachwhip The homeowner said she saw a rattlesnake in her back yard trying to climb the back wall. I was suspicious of this activity since rattlesnakes dont tend to do this and it’s 111 degrees out. When I got there I showed her pictures and we narrowed it down to a coachwhip. I ended up finding the snake on the other side of the yard coiled under a tree. They had a black tail in there yard a few weeks back. They have a drainage behind there home that leads right to south mountain preserve. There yard was well maintained and trimmed up.
