Phoenix 85054 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake To the sales team, check to make sure that she actually is looking for snake fencing. They clicked that themselves, but it did not come up during the removal. The back of the view fence has 24 inch half inch gap mesh with lots of problems and I started going down that discussion but the Father of the person I was talking too kind of shut that conversation down so approach appropriately in a bush in front yard. she is watching it. gate code #5300

Phoenix 85050 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Homeowner called about a small rattlesnake on their back patio, right up against their sliding glass door. Upon arrival, the small Diamondback had managed to elude the homeowner. After a bit of searching, I was able to locate the little guy curled up against the base of a large palm tree. This yard has a ton of vegetation and a pool, perfect for any snake that is trying to find some relief from the impending summer heat. Snake was returned to the patch of desert across the street where it came from, I hiked it into an area that was far from the home and released it into a small burrow under a mesquite tree next to a wash.

The homeowners “snake fence” had large rectangular holes that all kinds of things could have gotten through. The back fence backed up to a wash which was the likely entry point.

Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Received a call from customer stating that their daughter who was at home noticed a diamondback ant their back patio door and ran inside. Customer stated they were not on the property and were currently driving there. Customer text me photo of the snake and I confirmed it was a smaller atrox. Customer stated their daughter was home and to enter through the side yard once there. I arrived at property as customers were and they escorted me out back. Very large backyard on a corner lot. Desert wash runs south and east of property with long fence line facing open habitat. I did initial sweep of backyard without noticing any snake. Upon second pass I moved floor moldings away from stucco wall and noticed small atrox in ambush against stucco wall behind a pump sprayer. Utilized tongs to capture snake. Snake struck at tongs but otherwise captured and bucketed without incident. Snake did not rattle much. Performed another walkthrough inspection of yard. Customers doing some renovation on home and had piles of tiles and other materials around both front and back yard. Pointed these out to customer and provided education on snake behavior and how snakes will seek any space they can as refuge even if the materials had only been laying out for a short time. Pointed out large bougainvillea and lantana at edge of driveway and end of the wall that bordered the east side separating it from a wash. Advised to keep these plants trimmed or get rid of entirely. The wash that bordered the east side of property was strewn with small boulders that lead to a culvert under the street. Pointed tear out to customer as potential areas for snakes to hide/den. Customer inquired about chemical products to keep snakes away. I provided education in how these along with sonic/vibrational products do not work and advised customers to consider fencing. Customers agreed to free fencing quote.

Cave Creek 85331 Sonoran Gophersnake This homeowner called about a large rattlesnake in their backyard. Upon arrival it was determined that it was just a large gopher snake, however, they still wanted it removed. There were a few entry points in the side gates of the backyard. The back wall had some drainage holes, but they were all covered with fine mesh. The backyard was very large, with some grass and a lot of shady bushes… multiple good hiding spots for any reptile. The snake was taken across the street and hiked into the nearby patch of desert where it was released into a large packrat nest above a small wash and away from homes.

12:00 PM
Phoenix 85085 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Arrived at the customer’s home for a call about two rattlesnakes in the front yard. The family was gathered in the driveway with several children present. The customer pointed to a cassia bush, where I observed two smaller adult Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes (C. atrox) locked in mating. The snakes appeared aware of the crowd but remained locked, with the male twitching his head. I secured the area and used tongs to lift one snake and a hook to lift the other, providing additional support. I placed the bucket in the shade and then inspected both the front and back yards. The home has a wash directly to the east that runs up a hill into open habitat. The front yard and the mouth of the wash blend together, and this is where the snakes were found. No additional snakes were found on the property. The backyard was generally neat and tidy, with few areas where a snake could hide for long. The customer has one small dog. The backyard is enclosed by a high block wall, with one gate on the west side. The customer has installed a framed screen directly in the gate opening, requiring anyone entering the yard to step over it. The side yard on the west side of the house has drainage blocks, which I pointed out to the customer as a potential access point. I offered a free fencing quote, but the customer did not respond to the offer.
