Tucson 85730 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This customer called RS because she’s been seeing the same snake on a slope of unconsolidated rock landscaping leading down from the swimming pool. Today, a second snake had apparently joined the first, and they were both coiled under an overhanging stone with a burrow behind it, shaded by a small Opuntia species of cactus. Snakes were older-looking male and female Western Diamondback Rattlesnakes. Temps were in the 60s and both snakes were sluggish. I have had multiple snake calls in this neighborhood over my tenure with RS.

After calling several different places with no success, they thankfully called us and we came out to handle it. I captured the snake and released it to nearby habitat into a large packrat nest.
