It likely crossed the road and was in the open parking lot, following the bottom edge of the wall and retreated into rat trap when security guard found it. He was afraid he’d get venoms on himself so he called to have it removed. I searched around his back yard which had a fountain and several good bushes to hide under. He had a view fence that backed up to desert. He had his landscaper do his fencing which was half inch mesh not tall enough and the gate had big gaps. |

The snake could have crawled over but the drop was about 6 feet. After walking the property the likely entrance was a drain block in the concrete fence or a gap in the gate. The snake decided to camp out in a Bougainvillea bush and held on tight. I had to spray him with a hose and ended up catching him at the very top of the bush. He was relocated close by in a large pack rat nest. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Received a call for a western diamondback in the backyard of a Cave Creek home. Upon arrival, I found the snake curled up behind a long planter. A quick look around told me the snake came up one of the side yards where there were large gaps between the gates and the house. This large female western diamondback appears to have just eaten and was not thrilled for the car ride. |

Cleared garage including inspecting refrigerator and the undercarriage and engine bay of the Range Rover in the garage. No snakes or snake evidence present. Had customer shut garage to inspect holes that could have allowed entry or exit. Found garage mouldings cut too short allowing a one to two finger sized gap even an adult gopher snake could enter or exit through. Advised customer on simple methods to seal these holes to prevent further entry by snakes and other critters Garage code left side 2525 |

Upon arrival, the snakes had moved under boxes of leftover tiles but had separated from each other. I was able to easily grab the male but the female worked her way up between the house and the tiles and had to be pushed out with my hook. They were bucketed and released into some large boulders up a hillside. |

When I arrived it had taken refuge behind a large blue pot against the back wall of the residence. The snake came in through one of the two gates on either side of the house where there were gaps upwards of 3”. The snake was quickly captured and released north west of the new development into a deep pack rack nest just off of a wash. |

The property had various sheds, wood and debris piles and an old trailer home. There were at least seven pack rat nests just in the area surrounding the trailer. Owner used a Bobcat to lift one of the sheds and two Western Diamondbacks were reveled. Both snakes were captured with tongs and went into the bucket without fuss. Both snakes appeared to be male and they had a more reddish appearance than the ones i’m used to seeing in the nearby Tucson mountains. |

The squirrel was still alive but was on its way out so I put it with the snake. After looking around I believe the snake may have been hibernating in a near by hot tub and smelt out the rodent that had a hole under the turf.
