It was a challenging capture due to the density of the bush. I used water to get it to move. The snake did move towards the edge of the plant. I then used a snake hook to lift the plant up and used my tongs to gain control of the snake. The snake was released immediately afterward. End of report. |

This was a pretty dense bush. I poked around lifted up the sides looked and looked and nothing. I then searched nearby bushes. I couldn’t find it so I went back to the original bush and dug deeper. At the center of the bush, there was a big indent like a rabbit had dug it then right in the corner I saw a little snake head. I went to grab it and it came out. It was a western diamondback. I kind of thought it would have been a gophersnake since she said it was sitting on top of the bush. She has a view fence in the back and brick on the sides. Behind her house, she has a golf course and desert not too far from that. |

She watched it but it disappeared into some thick vegetation and boulders next to the house. I poked around and saw the snake coiled up likely waiting for a rodent to run by. They said they get at least one removed every month. They have some prime habitat all around their house. They have a high view fence that wouldn’t need fencing but a gate that needs to be done. And where the trash cans are kept they would like that gate done, and also they have a little courtyard that could be snake fenced also. |
