He quickly realized it was the distinct sound of a rattlesnake. He looked underneath his shelving unit and found an adult Western Diamondback Rattlesnake coiled in the corner. He called us immediately to come remove it. Once I arrived, I safely got the snake into the bucket and relocated it to a nearby habitat into a rodent burrow. The homeowners told me they left the garage door open for about an hour or so today, but almost always keep it closed. This shows how quickly a rattlesnake can find a comfy spot in your garage if the door is left open in a relatively short period of time- and why it’s so important to keep it closed.

They found this Western Diamondback having a staring contest with their cats through the sliding glass doors on their backyard patio. After waiting several minutes hoping the rattlesnake would move along, it unfortunately did not. Once they called, I quickly arrived and contained the snake, and released it into a rodent burrow in a nearby wash that was far away enough from homes to not be an issue again, but also still within its native range.

While I was en route, the snake retreated to a hole that went directly underneath the shed. When I arrived, I used a hose to flood underneath the shed for over 20 minutes from multiple sides until eventually the rattlesnake made a break for it. I was able to quickly capture and secure the snake, and released it into a nearby habitat into a rodent burrow.

She’s no stranger to rattlesnakes, as I’ve removed several from this property before. When I arrived, the homeowner had already secured the snake in a tote bin. I removed the lid, grabbed the snake, and secured it in the bucket. The snake was released into a large rodent burrow in a nearby habitat that’s still within its native range.

She was concerned the snake was still there. I searched yard very thoroughly. I flipped any items that had gaps underneath. Flooded any areas that I could not see under. And searched through every bush on property. No snake was found. I suggested that the customer trim up any and all bushes that were overgrown which would reduce shade for snakes. I also discussed her large gap underneath her fence which is the only spot the snake could have gotten in. She is very interested in a quote from our fencing crew. End of report.

She had an area she believed it was at but no further details. When I arrived I began looking near her brick pile. I noticed black and white bands stuck in chicken wire. I used my tongs to keep snake from biting me and also used a pair of the customers wire cutters to get the snake free. It worked very well. Snake was free and customer was happy. End of report.

Upon arrival the customer had shown a picture but was unable to identify what species they were. Upon inspection of the yard only one was found and what was originally thought to be a rattlesnake had actually been a baby gopher snake. Once removed a very thorough inspection of the property was conducted in order to find the other two snakes. Unfortunately there was no success but the customer did say they were all very similar looking with slight variations in pigment.

1:00 PM		 Sierra Vista 85615 None Customer had concern of area he loved at because of a few rattlesnake encounters he has had since moving in, in September. He wanted through inspection of his 3.58 acres, common walled in area and garage. I started in walled area. While I was inspecting I also photographed his gates and drainage holes to send to Jill for fencing info. No finds. There was very minimal amount of work needed to do in backyard. The acreage I surveyed had very tall brush. So I used transects experience and paced back and forward to front and of property line. I did find a couple snake skins but no active snake encounters. The garage last night had a rattlesnake in it, but this morning he had the fire department come out and catch the snake. Which was a Mojave rattlesnake. For the estimate the customer will need both gates done. 1 single and a double gate. He had a total of 9 drainage holes. 6 standard, 2 horizontal and narrow holes and 1 double hole. Also noticed 2 breaches in concrete wall. 1 on side near gate and the other near a drainage hole. The customer appreciated that we were able to go that south and had pleasant experience. 8:30 AM		 Green Valley 85614 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake 39" 8b (USS) stuck in chicken wire and 50" 12B (USS) brute of a rattlesnake beneath it. The one stuck was rather easily removed, but it was extremely exhausted as its body was suspended in the air, I was able to release it into a packrat nest and am hopeful it makes a full recovery. Please call for a fence referral that is somewhat involved.
