It was a fairly cluttered garage, and there could have been more that I couldn't find. She is aware and understanding of this.

It was unsuccessful, but it was there long enough that it concerned her enough for me to come get it. This is the same house I got three rattlesnakes in the garage from the cheaper fee is because I was very close to it when she called me and I was there no more than 48 hours ago.

They have a garage door for a door and it’s not sealed well. They chopped that one’s head off. They also got a baby rattlesnake in a sticky trap in their garage, which they also killed. I searched around and found a baby rattlesnake coiled up under a tray by their front door. The home has nothing but dirt in the immediate yard but they have a nice desert wash near by.

4:30 PM		 Queen Creek 85142 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was going into her courtyard when she heard a rattle and saw the neonate rattlesnake in a water drain that was in the walk way. I was able to flood the snake out. Her garage doors were right by this spot and neither one was sealed good so I'm thinking the snake had been in the garage for winter. The area is well developed but there is a big desert wash behind the home that goes on a few miles but all surrounded by homes.

They had a lot of questions about fencing, and I gave them one of our pamphlets. They are interested in fencing, but wanted to talk to their son who would be paying for it if they were to go for it. I gave him my number and they are going to contact me if they want to move forward. I collected information and have it with me.

9:30 PM		 Queen Creek 85142 Sonoran Gophersnake Arrived at customer’s home and was greeted by customer and neighbors crowded in a driveway that was not the initial address of the call. Customer stated that the snake had been slowly crawling around the neighborhood for over an hour. Customer stated he wasn’t sure what the snake was but that it was “at least 4ft long and skinny like he hasn’t eaten in a while.” Customer also said snake defecated while going through the side yard. Customer led me through side gate and I asked if I could lead and customer obliged. Went through side yard to the east of the home and did notice snake feces on the landscaping halfway down the side yard. I followed the fence line around and as I did a visual sweep I noticed a large gophersnake crawling on the opposite side of the pool along the wall. Approached snake and used hands to capture it. Snake was mellow and maybe a little lethargic but did not seem skinny like the customer stated. Bucketed the snake with no issue and performed quick inspection of the property. No other snakes found. The neighborhood was a year old and surrounded by old farmland but there wasn’t really desert habitat nearby so offering snake fencing did not seem appropriate.

The home is surrounded by open desert and their property does have some fencing but this snake gad made itself comfortable in her horse barn. Snake was hiked into the desert and released into deep cover in a large wash with a lot of shade.

6:30 AM		 Queen Creek 85140 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was on his back patio when he heard a rattle. A few feet from the patio, he had chicken wire along the pool fence and noticed a large rattlesnake stuck in it. This rattlesnake was very thick and was caught about halfway down its body. I was able to safely remove it, and the snake was not harmed. The homeowner’s yard offered many potential hiding spots for snakes, including junk piles, a large shed, and heavy rodent activity. The home was also very close to a large area of state land desert.

Oddly enough, almost one year to the day, I removed a rattlesnake from this exact spot. I searched around the property for the mother and additional babies, but none were found. The yard was fairly bare and the garage was very tidy, with few good hiding spots for an adult snake and a litter. I advised the homeowner to continue exercising caution, as there are very likely more babies in the general area. The snake was released into a rodent hole at the base of a creosote bush in nearby desert in Queen Creek.

We’re not sure if this is a baby from one of those that was still stuck in the wall or not, but it could be. Was a neonate atrox, could very well have been from the neighbors.

9:30 AM		 Queen Creek 85142 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowners called after trimming their lantana plants and seeing a snake hiding among the plants. When I arrived it was still under them and next to the house. I got the snake in the bucket and checked out the rest of the backyard. This yard had minimal entry points given that it was a 5-foot-tall brick wall around the yard with no weep holes except for one on the side of the house. The other entry point was their gate on the opposite side. This yard was well kept and I was glad the husband kept up with his lantanas. There was one leaky pipe but other than that there was not much drawing snakes in. However since there were only two entry points, the snake may have been there for a while under the plants. The area was very developed so the snake could have been just passing through and got somewhat "stuck" but decided it was a fine place to stay under the lantanas. They are interested in fencing and getting the single weep hole and the gate taken care of.

3:30 PM		 Prescott Valley 86315 Mojave Rattlesnake Received a call from a homeowner about a rattlesnake that had slithered into their yard from their back fence. After arriving one of the homeowners guided me to the location where the other was watching the snake. Upon inspection, the animal was determined to be a young Mojave Rattlesnake which had sheltered itself next to the homeowners standing grill. The snake was quickly captured and relocated to a large rodent burrow in a nearby wash with still active pools of water, as well as abundant plant and animal life. The yard where the snake was found had many objects bunched up along the sidewall of the house which could have attracted the snake as a source of shelter.

2:00 PM		 Prescott Valley 86315 Mojave Rattlesnake Important information: gate code 5491 I received a call about a rattlesnake that had been trapped in a rodent snape trap inside a persons garage. Before arriving the homeowner had safely and gently moved the animal just outfrount of the garage with a collapsible snake hook they owned and upon arriving the animal was determined to be a Mojave Rattlesnake. The snake was delicately as possible freed from the trap and quickly captured and bucketed. Fortunately the animal was caught by the sides of the trap instead of the front and suffered no significant injuries. Afterwards the animal was relocated to a relatively nearby rock outcrop that have a small cave with a packrat nest inside. The smaller of the two garage doors had been stuck slighyly open allowing easy entrance into the garage and the cool stable temperature as well as the numerous hiding places inside would have acted as an appealing shelter while approaching the winter months. The homeowner also had issues with various rodent species, explaining the presence of rodent traps, which also could have played a part in the snakes presence.
