I searched the rest of the yard for siblings but just found the one. They have a brick fence and a gate. The home is a few houses in but has desert surrounding it.

She thought it was a rattlesnake so called us. When I got there the snake was halfway in a hole that goes into the drywall of the home and under the kitchen sink. I caught the dude red-handed sneaking into the house. I got the snake but not before freaking out the house sitter with the news about it almost getting in. She said they need snake fencing for their small dogs so she requested a quote.

The snakes were locked up when I got there. The home has a view fence that backs up to the mountain and a large wash. These two were in a gated courtyard. They said they’ve got a fence quote a few years ago but wanna get it now.

2021-09-22 10:00 PM	Phoenix	85020	Western Diamondback Rattlesnake	Rattlesnake with a damaged tail was found approximately a mile from the main part of the Piestewa preserve. Likely driven so far from the preserve due to construction in the area. I suspect that it followed the wall that separates the neighborhood from the 51 freeway. Snakes tail damage didn’t seem to effect its health, but it was unable to rattle. Seemed like it had paralysis an inch or so above the tail, as the rattle just kind of dangled there no matter what the snake was doing. Tail damage could have been from construction.

But then it disappeared, fearing for his dogs he wanted me to look around. I searched the front nothing. I went into the back and just on the side yard there it was cruising through the back yard. This home is right on a little mountain with a view fence.

This morning he was doing a quick look through the yard to see if it was still around and it was by his trash cans under a piece of cardboard. That’s really the only cover this yard had. It is a few houses away from south mountain park.

The snake moved to neighbors front entry and stayed under bushes. Adult atrox, approx 3 ft long, very calm, did not strike or rattle

The likely point of ingress was a double side gate with a large clear space underneath. The snake was quiet until I moved to grab it then it was instantly very active and mobile, striking and hard to contain in the bucket

The gentleman went out to get the bricks and bring them in when he heard a rattle and ran inside. I saw the ring camera video and he did run lol. The home backs up to south mountain.

He thought they were the poisonous kind but they were spadefoots. When he was out there he saw the atrox coiled by his front door. Behind his home is lots of desert.

Block wall all the way around except for two side gates. Not lots of cover in the back yard, so most likely just there to mate. New development with lots of surrounding construction likely drove the snakes to be displaced into the neighborhood.

No view fencing needed, all block walls. The wash was recently ‘cleaned up’ by the HOA. I told him he should recommend to the Board that they leave the wash natural.

She ran and said she saw a large pink snake. Being that it’s Phoenix mountain area I thought maybe rattlesnake. When I opened the door to the house it was right there and after a few attempted bites, I got the Coachwhip in the bucket.

Today the guy was looking to see if it was still around and it was coiled up by a cactus in his front yard so he had it removed. The house is located right next to the Phoenix mountain preserve.
