This was certainly not the first snake that he had seen on the property, and not the first time we had been called out. The home is in a gated development on the side of a mountain and borders a large area of native desert. There is a large wash that cuts down the mountain just in front of the home. I searched the rest of the property and did not find any other snakes.

6:30 AM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Baby rattlesnake found on front porch that looked to be less than two weeks old. This is the second rattlesnake in 4 years. The other was found in their pool. The front yard had desert landscaping with some bushes that could be trimmed higher but it was pretty minimalistic. Encouraged her not to leave her garage door open unattended. Checked the garage and backyard and no other babies were found. Dog is already trained by Rattlesnake Ready.

10:30 AM		 Scottsdale 85255 Coachwhip The customer called about an unknown species of snake hiding behind a cabinet in the garage. Upon arrival, the snake was identified as a coachwhip and captured. This house is surrounded by desert with a courtyard in the front. The backyard has a large wall behind it with more than a 3’ drop all around it. There is one gate leading into the backyard. There was plenty of rodent activity on the property. The homeowner was not available, it was his son who made contact with us and his information is on file.

9:00 AM		 Scottsdale 85260 Nightsnake Workers at the Paradigm Technology office in Scottsdale called us after seeing a small snake inside the building. The snake was secured under a trash can until I arrived. I lifted the trash can to find a very frightened Nightsnake. After everyone got a picture and a little education about the snake and what we do, I searched around the office but did not find any other snakes.

2:30 PM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake I went to this home earlier in the day after the nanny and kids saw a snake near the front door. I met the homeowner there who did not see the snake either, he then showed me a blown-up, blurry picture of a rattlesnake. At that time I didn’t realize it was a baby who had a big meal in his belly. The snake was found again later in the day hiding in a small area under the door jam and behind a very thick doormat. I was able to secure it this time and safely relocate it. This house is surrounded by natural desert.

It was very late and they had already gone to bed before I arrived. They told me where to find the snake, and it was in the same spot waiting for me. The snake was found not far from the side gate, which had a large gap underneath. No other snakes were found.

The neonate was coiled up in the office. The doors to the office building all had little gaps under or in the center of them. Big enough for a little snake to get through. The landscapers noticed the snake slither from one bush to another as they were trimming. I was able to get the snake out from under the bush. The home has a big desert drainage right on the side of it and is surrounded by lots of desert and lots of new builds.

2:30 PM		 Scottsdale 85259 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was having landscaping done when the landscaper cut an overgrown palo verde and heard a rattle. The tree was right behind the homeowner's fence. When I got there, I noticed a packrat nest under the tree and instantly heard the rattle when I touched it. The tree was really thick so the landscaper let me use his chainsaw to cut a path to the snake. Eventually, it slithered out of the packrat nest but went deeper into the overgrown tree. After more cutting, I eventually got the snake. The home had desert all around it between the other homes and the preserve not too far away.

8:00 PM		 Scottsdale 85260 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The new tenant of a home in Scottsdale called after realizing that there was a large rattlesnake under the patio chair that she had been sitting in for over half an hour. She said that she was talking on the phone and could not identify the source or location of the loud buzzing sound coming from somewhere nearby. She is new to Arizona after moving from the East Coast, and she thought what she was hearing was a cicada. A friend of her teenage son suggested it may be a rattlesnake, and someone tilted the chair back to confirm. I arrived and was shown to the wicker chair. You could not see underneath it because it only had a 1.5-inch gap between the ground and the base of the chair. I carefully used my hook to tilt the chair backwards, and there was the snake. It had just eaten something. I searched the rest of the yard which was large with a pool and a lot of landscaping. The home is in a development across from a high school and not far from open, native desert. The snake could have easily used a series of drainages to get into the neighborhood. A block wall surrounded the entire yard. There was a gate with a gap, as well as several drains. No other snakes were found.

This massive old male was cruising around the property the entire time I was on my way. Unfortunately, this entire area is being developed so the desert that this old man used to call home is no longer there. I had to relocate him a bit further than I would like but kept it as close as possible to the capture site.

5:30 PM		 San Tan Valley 85143 None Rattlesnake in hole under the concrete back porch. When I arrived I heard it buzzing, but could not see it. I decided to flood the hole, and did so for about 30 minutes. The snake never came out so we tried to dig it out with shovels for a long time but the snake was never heard or seen again. We backfilled the hole very well. I inspected the property and could not find any exit holes. Unfortunately I do not think the snake will make it. Sincerely tried my best.

Killed it and wanted to make sure no others were present underneath pallets or anywhere else on the property. Looked under pallets and through horse stalls and it was all clear. Not much else on the property to hide in. Found the dead diamondback on The other side of the wall to confirm the ID. Will definitely call us back if any other snakes show up, 1st one seen in 10 years. Not any desert real close by but plenty of desert somewhat near this area.

I searched everywhere and didn’t see anything. She has a vegetable garden that takes up most the back yard. I noticed some rodent poop around but no snake. I don’t think there was a snake to begin with. She has a brick fence, a few drain holes and a gate.

4:30 PM		 San Tan Valley 85140 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner called about a gophersnake hanging out in some weeds in his front yard. Five minutes before I got there he said it went into a hole. He said it tried one hole and another gophersnake came out and bit it’s tail so it left to another hole. I put water in the hole and eventually it’s head poked out. Fast forward three hours later. I eventually caught the gophersnake the guy saw but watering out the other hole I discovered two more gophersnakes and they would poke their heads out but would not come out. The yard is surrounded by farm fields and he has some chickens on his property as well.

The snake likely entered through the side gate, and the yard was surrounded by a tall brick wall with hardly any vegetation or hiding places. The snake was probably just stuck in the yard and unable to find its way back out. I took the snake to a nearby wash with dense vegetation and ample cover.

They have had no snakes for the past 6 years so it was a big surprise. The family had seen it for the past couple of days and it was not moving on as it was hunkered down underneath a large storage bin. They would hear it rattle if they went near it's spot. Snake was captured and relocated into a natural desert area with rodent activity and into a rodent hole.

12:00 AM		 San Tan Valley 85144 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Received a call regarding a snake in the backyard area. The customer sent a picture and I confirmed it was an atrox. Arrived and met the customer out front who escorted me into the backyard. The backyard was very large ~half an acre facing west. The area of the yard directly off the back porch was gated with a view fence to keep pets (3 Yorkies) close to the house. The fence had a 1/4 mesh lining it all the way around. Directly west of the fence the ground sloped gently and was lined with bigger rocks. Went through the gate to access the rest of the yard and noted a large atrox in ambush to my left. Captured and bucketed using tongs with no issue. Inspected the rest of the yard and no other snakes were found. Most of the yard was barren and void of cover but there were several small fruit trees with drip irrigation. Home is surrounded by habitat on all sides and I suspect the snake likely came from the wash to the west.

7:30 PM		 San Tan 85143 Mojave Rattlesnake A homeowner in San Tan Valley called about a Mojave rattlesnake in their garage. The snake was discovered when they arrived home and got out of the car and saw it curled up right next to the garage door entrance. This neighborhood is small and surrounded by desert on three sides, so no surprise that the snake was in the area. Not sure if it spent the winter in the garage or if it just found its way in recently. I hiked the snake back out into the surrounding desert away from homes and found a large packrat nest that it should be able to use and hopefully have a better chance at survival than it would in this homeowner‘s garage.

9:00 PM		 San Tan 85143 Kingsnake The homeowners called the hotline right after being delivered food, the delivery driver informed them they had a \"rattlesnake\" sitting behind a decoration by their front door. They were afraid to check around any further due to the potential of a misstep by doing so since it was noted to be so close to the doorway. When I arrived I immediately walked to the front door where the animal was noted to be last seen, right away to my pleasant surprise it was an adult kingsnake stretched perfectly across the doorstep looking upwards, I picked the snake up and contained it in the bucket, while doing so I heard little chirping sounds I couldn\'t quite pinpoint. After knocking on the door the homeowners pointed out the nest of baby birds within their front door wreath, and explained this was the second year the momma bird had nested there successfully. It was then very clear that the kingsnake was looking up with the intent to get to that bird nest for it\'s door dashed dinner as well. I followed up by inspecting the property which has clean minimal and well maintained landscaping with a solid block wall for fencing and explained it would be easy to have the fencing team Rattlesnake proof their yard which they were very thankful and interested in. The home is on the end of a small community that is centered in and surrounded by open desert and agricultural land.

When I arrived the homeowner was inside but directed me to the front door where as described was a small Sonoran Sidewinder curled up in the left corner of the entryway. The snake was contained and I inspected the rest of the property for any other snakes. The home is located in a developed gated community but the home was on the outside edge of that community with sandy desert scrub land and natural habitat just beyond its walls on the other side of the road. The snake was brought to the area of natural desert within its home range far from the road and homes leading up to some hillsides and let go within an active ground squirrel burrow beneath creosote bushes.

Not much usable habitat around the area the snake was found; the yard was well-kept and landscaped.
