When she moved the trash can that was near it she noticed the rattlesnake coiled up behind it. The garage floor had just been redone three weeks ago and the garage was very clean. The snake could have been in a nearby closet in the garage without being seen. They had a gap in the garage door. The home had desert all around it and throughout the other homes.

8:30 PM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Homeowner called about a small rattlesnake that was in front of her guest house. She has family in town and was worried about the grandkids getting bit. They placed a small trash bin over the snake to keep it from going anywhere. Home is very large and surrounded by desert, likely not the first time a rattlesnake has been around. I took the diamondback into the nearby desert and found it a nice packrat nest at the base of an ironwood tree away from homes. North Scottsdale

Thankfully, the snake was ok, a little cold but ok. This back yard didn’t have much for deep cover. I’m not sure where this little one was thinking about hibernating. The home had some desert between the homes.

They were excited to hear that our service does not kill the snake but instead finds a more suitable environment away from people to for it to live. Relocated into a desert wash with lots of rodent activity.

1:00 PM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was on her back patio when she saw a little snake head poking out from under a large pot on her back patio. There was a dying centipede near the neonate so I’m not sure if the little one envenomated it. I was able to get the little one out from under the pot. There was also a large shedded king snake skin under there. She said she saw the king a few months before she let it stay. This was large property with a lot of vegetation but it was all very clean. Next to the big pot, about 7 feet away, was a grill island that I believe the snake was staying under for winter. She is scheduled to get our fencing done already in the spring. There is some desert just behind her back wall.

His backyard did not have any cover for this adult rattlesnake. The garage was a few feet away and there were gaps in the sides and middle big enough for this snake to slither in and out. The home was across the street from a lot of desert.

Customer showed me an area that hada shed skin, revealing a 2nd diamondback hiding underneath another part of the front of the homes overhang. This was located behind an overwatered potted plant. Captured snake and vetoed no others present nearby. As aided customer move potted plants away from corner and water less if possible

5:00 PM		 Scottsdale 85254 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This community had eyes on this snake for a while as it moved from the backyard of one home across a couple of driveways before coiling up in a bush in the front yard of another home. When I arrived there was a small crowd keeping an eye on the snake. The large male atrox was extremely calm and did not resist. Given where this home was, my only conclusion was that he swam across the canal to get to this neighborhood so I gave him a ride back.

6:00 PM		 Scottsdale 85266 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The client called the hotline with a report of a rattlesnake near the rear sliding glass door. The client and his small dogs passed within the immediate vicinity of the snake and it went unnoticed until the snake alerted by rattling. The client had retrieved a shovel with the intent to dispatch the snake, but decided it was “too large” to attempt to kill. The western diamondback was removed without incident and no further activity was found. The snake was likely overwintering in a drainage pipe that was up against the home in the side yard. The pipe was about a foot or two under the earth. This was only about ten feet from where the snake was seen and it was the only deep cover around. There is a lot of desert patches throughout this community.

While en route, the snake moved a short distance, but the homeowner washed it, and it was an easy capture. They said they had another snake there recently, which indicates a den. Searched the property and adjacent public areas, and found nothing, which means their neighbors likely have an issue. Advised.

2:00 PM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called about a rattlesnake that was on her back porch. When I arrived, the western diamondback had moved behind a large flower pot and was rattling. This was a huge yard and it was one of those neighborhoods in Scottsdale, where all the homes are equally spaced with desert all around them. Did a sweep of the yard and did not find any other snakes. The homeowner is curious about the fencing because the snake could easily enter through both gates on both sides of the house. Found a nice large desert area in between two neighborhoods about a mile south and placed the snake into a large packrat nest underneath a shady tree where the snake will be able to continue living its life.

11:00 AM		 Scottsdale 85266 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Arrived and found an average adult western diamondback attempting to exit the courtyard. Captured snake. Verified with renters that it was the snake in question. Base on surrounding habitat warns that others will be likey.

4:00 PM		 Scottsdale 85266 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner heard his dogs barking at something outside, so he went to investigate and found the two mating rattlesnakes by his pool equipment. The snakes tails were intertwined when I walked up but I’m not sure if they were actually locked up. I scooped them both up together. The pool equipment did have a hole going underneath the pad. Which could have been a spot one or both were hanging out before being seen. The home had a nice desert area right behind it but no other really good hiding place in the yard.

4:30 PM		 Scottsdale 85266 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Rattlesnake on patio assisted living facility. By the time I got there, it had moved and disappeared. I searched the property and found a wooden pallet with remnants of a rodent nest under it covered in old cinderblocks. It looked like a den situation, so I used water and carefully disassembled the blocks. I found the snake under it and captured it. No others found, but searched the property and advised.

4:00 PM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake A homeowner in Scottsdale called about a large rattlesnake curled up by her garage door. She spotted it from her car as she was coming home. Upon arrival, the snake had started to move away from the garage door and towards the desert, but I got there just in time to snag it before it could disappear. Home is right at the base of a large mountain covered in boulders and the front yard area looks like it could have many more rattlesnakes around, so I told her just to be careful especially this time of year as they are all emerging from the winter. She was completely understanding about where she lives. Snake was released into a large Pack rat nest in a nearby patch of desert away from homes.

11:30 AM		 Scottsdale 85266 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner heard her dog barking at something and then she saw the rattlesnake in her backyard. She ran inside so she didn’t know where the snake went. I searched the backyard but the snake was right by a wall gap that led to a nice desert wash behind the home. So I went back there and saw the snake coming out of a pack rat nest but when I grabbed it another rattlesnake also slithered out. I was at this house two days ago for two mating rattlesnakes in the back yard which I caught. They also said one day ago they had a rattlesnake in their front yard. Likely one of these two I caught today. The home has a view fence and a nice desert wash behind them.

10:00 AM		 Scottsdale 85266 Sonoran Gophersnake The homeowner had recently drained their pool and was in the process of refilling it when they saw the head of a snake poke out from an inlet at the bottom of the pool. As the water started to fill up the snake would move out further keeping its head above water. When I arrived, the gopher snake was most of the way out of the inlet and was captured and relocated into a nearby wash. The homeowner had a homeowner install snake fencing on their full-view fence with gaps in multiple places. The yard itself had plenty of low plants that any snake would enjoy.

1:30 PM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner saw the rattlesnake just outside his garage door. When I arrived I could tell by how it was sitting that it was dead. It had guts coming out of its cloaca. It must have been hit by a car. The road was busy with construction workers from all the new homes being built nearby. The home has a view fence and has a lot of great habitat around. They are right by the preserve.

1:30 PM		 Scottsdale 85259 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Customer called stating a rattlesnake was seen crawling under an AC pad and then soon after saw it coming back out from the same concrete pad. Upon arrival, several workers were watching the snake and it had crawled several feet away from the ac pad into a bush. I then attempted to capture the snake in a small bush but it went into a hole. I then flooded the hole out and eventually it came back out for capture. This is a fence customer so his backyard is fenced but the home sits between 2 washes and has good habitat overall.

The home was right next to a drainage area that led to more desert a little bit away. They have a little view fence section and one gate.

1:00 PM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The church was having a stack of doors moved out of their back storage area and one of the workers noticed a small baby Rattlesnake curled up outside of them, the worker used a nearby shovel to scoop it into an empty dry paint bucket. The church is on a large property adjacent to a great natural habitat on the back side where the storage area and snake was found. I took some time to look around their storage areas and peak into their storage sheds for any further snakes. No other snakes were found, and the baby rattlesnake was driven shortly up the road to the next safest natural habitat away from buildings.

2:00 PM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Staff called the hotline with a report of a western diamondback traveling from the pool area along a building. I arrived at the appropriate building and the staff observers immediately pointed out the snake. It was in a semi defensive posture and clearly agitated. The snake was removed without incident. A courtesy walk through of the area resulted in no additional snakes removed, however, there was a highly decomposed section of vertebrae and skin from what appeared to be a colubrid.

12:30 PM		 Scottsdale 85266 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called with a report of a rattlesnake in the pool. The homeowner was envenomated by a neonate western diamondback this last November and hospitalized. The snake was posted behind the waterfall feature of the pool when I arrived. I was able to remove it without incident. A comprehensive search of the property was conducted; no additional snakes were removed. I highly recommend snake fencing to these folks given the incident that occurred last year and their very open backyard with plentiful reptile resources nearby and on property. The client also has 2 dogs that I recommended they get training for.

She then noticed they were locked up mating. They saw her and went further into the garage. The male was pulling the female around. I was able to scoop both the snakes up and keep them locked up. The garage had a lot of things in it and I noticed rodent activity. There were gaps in the garage door when it was shut. There was a lot of desert just down the road from her. The snakes were still locked up when I relocated them.

The house had a wash on the west side of it and open desert just south which is where I believe this guy came from. The snake had moved to the same rock next to the driveway by the time I arrived and this is where I found it. Safely captured and relocated south of the property into a packrat nest.

The house sat on the end of the street with a wide open ravine right next to it. The homeowner knew that meant he might have frequent visitors.

1:30 PM		 Scottsdale 85266 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The customer spotted a western diamondback underneath a rug on his back porch while taking the garbage out. He saw the head pop up and the tongue flicker. When I arrived the snake was no longer under the rug or anywhere near the patio. After a long game of hide and seek, I found him on the side of the house between a stack of roof tiles and the block fence. The snake was relocated north of the property into a packrat nest that was right underneath a large tree.

10:30 PM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Received a call about a rattlesnake on the back porch. Arrived at home and the customer escorted me to the backyard area. The customer pointed out through a window where the snake was and I observed an adult atrox in a defensive posture rattling. Snake was on top of a small flight of steps that led to a door inside the home. Snake was very defensive and did not stop rattling for the duration of my time with it. Snake struck tongs as I captured it and struck out twice when I had it bucketed. Performed an inspection of the back yard. The yard was very large with topography. Home sat at the bottom of a granite mountain. Pointed out to the customer several areas of concern for overgrown vegetation that was irrigated near the pool area and provided education on snake behavior and encouraged the customer to keep plants trimmed or eliminate them. Walked around the fence line, and I noticed new holes. There is an area where the fencing stops as the wall intersects with a giant boulder on the east end of the yard. Fencing material just kind of folded back into the open desert where a snake could easily enter. I offered the customer a free fencing quote and they obliged. The customer shared concerns they had about their small dog and I stressed the importance of prevention.

10:00 AM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was trimming up some plants in her backyard when she heard a rustling and looked down and saw the rattlesnake just slithering by. She kept her eye on it and it just stayed in the same area while I drove there. I grabbed the snake and looked around. She did have some heavy vegetation, but she was also trimming up her plants as we spoke. I did not see any other snakes. She has a view fence in the back, which is higher off the ground, and one gate. She has a drainage that runs by her house that leads to little sections of desert, but not much desert is left in this area.

As we were moving the wood the gophersnake came out and I snagged it. The yard did have some heavy vegetation and citrus trees. Along with some wood and junk piles. The home had a drainage area next to it that led straight to the reservation.

7:00 PM		 Scottsdale 85266 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was cleaning up after her dog in a corner of her back yard when she nearly stepped on a Western Diamondback. After calling us, she watched it move from the back yard to the front yard and into a bush. The bush had a packrat nest inside of it and she asked that I remove the bush in order to get to the nest. I removed both the bush and the nest but did not find the snake. I then moved to a large non native cactus which was also near where they had seen the snake. I began to flood the area under the cactus and eventually spotted and was able to remove the snake. The woman was extremely upset and stressed during the entire service, which ended up taking several hours. She wasn't upset with us, just at the situation, which was made worse because it was getting late. After capturing the snake, I took a look at the fence. I did not find a single place where I thought a snake could enter the property. She is having renovations done to the home so there is a handyman moving in and out of the gate on a regular basis. But this woman has a service dog and is extremely careful about the gate being closed at all times.

9:30 PM		 Scottsdale 85259 Longnosed Snake The homeowner called us about a possible Coral Snake at her home in Scottsdale. I arrived to find that the snake had already found a small hole on the side of the home near an air conditioning unit. I flooded the hole with water until a very cold and wet longnosed snake emerged. At the request of the homeowner, the snake was removed. This property is located in the middle of a gated community just north of a large open stretch of native desert. It was heavily landscaped with a water feature. No other snakes were found.

5:00 AM		 Scottsdale 85266 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Last night James went out to this Airbnb property for a rattlesnake under an underground trampoline. There was no access under the trampoline so he was not able to get the snake. I went out today and the maintenance crew lifted the trampoline for me so I could hop down. There were bricks down there that the snake wedged behind and with some water, I was able to get the snake out. The property had a very large yard and had a lot of state land across the street. The baby rattlesnake was healthy so I don’t think it was down there for long but it would not have been able to get out on its own.
