Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner was in the garage and she spotted both the snakes. She then noticed they were locked up mating. They saw her and went further into the garage. The male was pulling the female around. I was able to scoop both the snakes up and keep them locked up. The garage had a lot of things in it and I noticed rodent activity. There were gaps in the garage door when it was shut. There was a lot of desert just down the road from her. The snakes were still locked up when I relocated them. |

Scottsdale | 85266 | Mojave Rattlesnake | The homeowner spotted this baby Mojave next to her garage door (outside) after pulling into the garage. The house had a wash on the west side of it and open desert just south which is where I believe this guy came from. The snake had moved to the same rock next to the driveway by the time I arrived and this is where I found it. Safely captured and relocated south of the property into a packrat nest. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | This western diamondback had been visiting this McDowell Mountain Ranch home on and off for the past week. The house sat on the end of the street with a wide open ravine right next to it. The homeowner knew that meant he might have frequent visitors. |

Scottsdale | 85266 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The customer spotted a western diamondback underneath a rug on his back porch while taking the garbage out. He saw the head pop up and the tongue flicker. When I arrived the snake was no longer under the rug or anywhere near the patio. After a long game of hide and seek, I found him on the side of the house between a stack of roof tiles and the block fence. The snake was relocated north of the property into a packrat nest that was right underneath a large tree. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Received a call about a rattlesnake on the back porch. Arrived at home and the customer escorted me to the backyard area. The customer pointed out through a window where the snake was and I observed an adult atrox in a defensive posture rattling. Snake was on top of a small flight of steps that led to a door inside the home. Snake was very defensive and did not stop rattling for the duration of my time with it. Snake struck tongs as I captured it and struck out twice when I had it bucketed. Performed an inspection of the back yard. The yard was very large with topography. Home sat at the bottom of a granite mountain. Pointed out to the customer several areas of concern for overgrown vegetation that was irrigated near the pool area and provided education on snake behavior and encouraged the customer to keep plants trimmed or eliminate them. Walked around the fence line, and I noticed new holes. There is an area where the fencing stops as the wall intersects with a giant boulder on the east end of the yard. Fencing material just kind of folded back into the open desert where a snake could easily enter. I offered the customer a free fencing quote and they obliged. The customer shared concerns they had about their small dog and I stressed the importance of prevention. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner was trimming up some plants in her backyard when she heard a rustling and looked down and saw the rattlesnake just slithering by. She kept her eye on it and it just stayed in the same area while I drove there. I grabbed the snake and looked around. She did have some heavy vegetation, but she was also trimming up her plants as we spoke. I did not see any other snakes. She has a view fence in the back, which is higher off the ground, and one gate. She has a drainage that runs by her house that leads to little sections of desert, but not much desert is left in this area. |

Scottsdale | 85258 | Sonoran Gophersnake | The homeowner called about a non-venomous snake in a wood pile in the backyard. When I arrived the snake had just gone back under the wood. As we were moving the wood the gophersnake came out and I snagged it. The yard did have some heavy vegetation and citrus trees. Along with some wood and junk piles. The home had a drainage area next to it that led straight to the reservation. |

7:00 PM |
Scottsdale | 85266 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner was cleaning up after her dog in a corner of her back yard when she nearly stepped on a Western Diamondback. After calling us, she watched it move from the back yard to the front yard and into a bush. The bush had a packrat nest inside of it and she asked that I remove the bush in order to get to the nest. I removed both the bush and the nest but did not find the snake. I then moved to a large non native cactus which was also near where they had seen the snake. I began to flood the area under the cactus and eventually spotted and was able to remove the snake. The woman was extremely upset and stressed during the entire service, which ended up taking several hours. She wasn't upset with us, just at the situation, which was made worse because it was getting late. After capturing the snake, I took a look at the fence. I did not find a single place where I thought a snake could enter the property. She is having renovations done to the home so there is a handyman moving in and out of the gate on a regular basis. But this woman has a service dog and is extremely careful about the gate being closed at all times. |

Scottsdale | 85259 | Longnosed Snake | The homeowner called us about a possible Coral Snake at her home in Scottsdale. I arrived to find that the snake had already found a small hole on the side of the home near an air conditioning unit. I flooded the hole with water until a very cold and wet longnosed snake emerged. At the request of the homeowner, the snake was removed. This property is located in the middle of a gated community just north of a large open stretch of native desert. It was heavily landscaped with a water feature. No other snakes were found. |

Scottsdale | 85266 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Last night James went out to this Airbnb property for a rattlesnake under an underground trampoline. There was no access under the trampoline so he was not able to get the snake. I went out today and the maintenance crew lifted the trampoline for me so I could hop down. There were bricks down there that the snake wedged behind and with some water, I was able to get the snake out. The property had a very large yard and had a lot of state land across the street. The baby rattlesnake was healthy so I don’t think it was down there for long but it would not have been able to get out on its own. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Caller reported a rattlesnake near the front entryway. The snake made its way to a bush in the front yard, and then the homeowner lost track of the snake’s location. I was unable to locate the snake initially, however, I was eventually able to locate the snake in a large bougainvillea bush amongst the leaf litter. I advised the client to seal the drainage block behind the Bougainvillea bush, as well as the hole under their block view fence wall in the rear of the yard. |

Scottsdale | 85266 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Homeowner called about a rattlesnake that had been living in her backyard for some time. She had seen it multiple times before, but finally decided to have it safely relocated. The house is located in an area with boulders and lots of natural desert between houses. The backyard has lots of vegetation to hide under with driplines. The snake was relocated to the foothills of a granite mountain. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Received a call regarding a rattlesnake in a driveway. Arrived at the customer’s home and was greeted outside by them. The customer pointed out where he first noticed the snake in the large driveway and that he tracked it slowly moving south to some landscaping as he waited for me to arrive. I observed a young g juvenile atrox in ambush underneath a small creosote. Utilized oversized tweezers to capture with no issue. The snake had three segments in its rattle. Performed an inspection of both front and backyard, which were huge and no other snakes were found. Both yards were largely neat and tidy. I provided education on snake behavior and pointed out some areas a snake might seek refuge in the summer months. Customer stated that the builder installed 1/4” mesh around the view fence but not around gate entrances on either side of the yard. Home and development are new and surrounded by habitat on all sides. I suspect the snake was likely just moving through the property before it was found by the customer and the dog. |

Scottsdale | 85259 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called about a snake in the backyard looking for cover. I found the snake hiding behind a storage unit on the shaded back porch. The house is located on the corner of the street with a lot of access to the natural desert. There is a side gate with access and a drainage hole in the wall. |

Scottsdale | 85266 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Received a call regarding two rattlesnakes in the backyard. When I arrived, the customer greeted me in the driveway and escorted me to the backyard. The customer stated he had captured one with a golf club and put it in a 5-gallon bucket with another 5-gallon bucket stacked on top of it to seal it. I peeked inside and noticed a large female atrox. The real work began when the customer showed me the pool equipment storage area where he said “the bigger one” was. The customer pointed out a gap underneath the eaves of the wall below their back patio. There were a few pumps with hoses, wires, and conduits running parallel to the wall that were above and in front of the gap. When I initially flooded the hole the male atrox appeared but stayed close to the gap and within all the hoses and conduits. I utilized the tongs several times to attempt to capture but the snake had itself wrapped between the equipment and hoses and I was not successful. Continued flooding and observing in about 10-15 min increments. There were several times when a large shed would flush out but no snake. I would have to stop each time to allow the water pooling up inside the area to drain. Snake reappeared after my 4th attempt of flooding but remained on the breach of the gap. Used the hose to gently spray the snake directly and it darted out to the side opposite of the gap where I was able to successfully capture it with my tongs. Massive atrox. The biggest I’ve personally seen. At least 4ft and likely bigger. Very heavy snake. Bucketed him with no incident. The snake was actually very mellow considering everything I put him through. The snake was old and I suspect had lived there for years considering all the development within the area (The Boulders). The customer stated that when he purchased the home that the builder said that he believed a snake was living in that location. The customer stated he is interested in fencing around the pool equipment area but I do not think the customer has an actual fence that runs around his backyard. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Sonoran Gophersnake | The homeowner called because they had a snake in their backyard eating quail eggs. Before calling us, they shot the snake with a pellet gun only injuring it and it disappeared into to some landscaping rocks. I flooded the rocks with water and we found the snake on the other side of the wall. It had found a way under the wall through the rocks. The snake was observed for a couple of days and after recovering it was released into deep cover. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The client called with a report of a small rattlesnake coiled near the base of a trash bin, which sits behind a gate in front of the home. The client was able to watch the snake as it remained coiled in the same position until I arrived. It looked like the snake had recently had a small meal. No other snakes were recovered. The client requests a quote for fencing to protect the rear yard and possibly the trash receptacle storage area. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | This was at a preschool. One of the kids spotted the rattlesnake on the playground by the toy box. The employees watched the snake from inside but lost sight of it. The snake was not on the playground when I arrived but I checked the desert around the playground and found a male and female western diamondback coiled up together under a bush. The preschool had a view fence that opened up to some desert. There wasn’t much desert around this busy shopping center but enough for two rattlesnakes. There was a bit more desert across the road. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The caller in this instance was a property manager for a short-term rental property. The guests staying in the home saw a rattlesnake coiled behind a large shed. The children observed the snake then traveling along the inside of the perimeter wall. Unfortunately, the observers lost sight of the snake after briefly leaving the area. After a brief inspection, I determined the snake had likely made its way under the shed. After attempting a flood out for a significant period of time in each hole with no emergence, I decided to tap along the base of the shed and I was able to hear the snake rattle. After much more water, I was able to coax the snake into emerging from one of the drain holes in the shed base. The snake was recovered without incident and no other snakes were removed. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called about a rattlesnake on the move in her front yard. I found the snake half in a bush trying to get away. The front of the house is completely exposed to the desert with lots of open space surrounding it. The snake was relocated to the nearby preserve in a packrat nest. Twenty five minutes later the homeowner called that there was a second snake on her front porch. I went right back and found a very defensive snake stretched out at the front door. The second snake looked like a gravid female and was placed in the same packrat nest as the first. |

Scottsdale | 85266 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | This was an Airbnb and they were having a bachelor party when the pool person discovered a rattlesnake in the pool area. They lost sight of it but I found it coiled under a bush by the pool. This was a big yard and had a lot of desert nearby. All of them being out of towners really enjoyed seeing the rattlesnake. |

Scottsdale | 85266 | Sonoran Gophersnake | Her landscapers saw the snake yesterday in her side yard, near her garden. It was tangled in some netting and she decided to call today to have it removed. Poor snake had been out there awhile thankfully the weather has been cool. The snake did have some scale damage where the netting was cutting into its body. It had a few eggs in its belly that got it hung up. The homeowner had a garden and backed up to a golf course with a view fence. There were patches of desert throughout the community. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Security at an apartment complex called about a small rattlesnake spotted by one of the tenants. When I arrived the young diamondback was curled up in the middle of the parking lot. There was some good habitat just across the street no less than a year ago but that land is now flattened and being developed, which likely displaced the snake and led to this encounter. |

Scottsdale | 85266 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Unit 68. This is a fence customer of ours. The snake was in the driveway and was accidentally run over. The snake did have some guts hanging out but was acting fine. I took the snake to the vet to receive care. Dr. Driggers took X-rays and no bones were broken. He stitched the snake back up and said to wait a few months before relocating. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Nightsnake | The caller reported a small snake on the patio that her dog was barking at for some time. When I arrived the snake was under a plastic storage bin. The snakes mouth was agape and it was visibly not well. I placed the snake in shade and gave it cool water. I advised the client to remove slate rock pile on the side of the home and roofing tiles on the opposite side as well. The snake has not recovered but was released in hopes of pulling through. |

Scottsdale | 85266 | Mojave Rattlesnake | After receiving a call, the customer had stated she had originally spotted and confirmed a rattlesnake in her backyard when she went to let her dog out. However, she was comfortable enough to watch it until my arrival, and upon my arrival, it had moved under her gate into her front yard, where I was then able to capture it near some dead foliage. After the capture, I then made sure to inspect the rest of her property, but found nothing else. The customer had also stated this was not their first rattlesnake call and had used our company in the past as well. Her property was very close to a desert preserve, with multiple entry points into her backyard for the rattlesnake, and a huge shaded area on her side property that she shares with the neighbor, full of shrubs and foliage for shade, which is most likely the reason for its presence on the property. Upon capture of this young Mojave, I then returned it back to the desert preserve and hiked it away from all the residential areas to live out the rest of its life. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called after seeing a rattlesnake on the side of his home headed towards the back yard. I arrived and took a quick look around the back yard, which was small, clean and completely empty. There was almost no landscaping and very few structures to hide under. Around the opposite side of the home from where the snake was last seen, there was a small stack roof tiles left over from a recent project. The snake was found hiding under one of these tiles, which was the only shade available in the immediate area. The property was in the middle of a development, but situated in between two natural drainages, both of which led out to more native habitat. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowners pool person was in the back yard by the pool equipment and spotted one rattlesnake. He walked to the front door to notify the homeowners and there was another coiled by the front door. The snake by the door went under a bush near by and I grabbed it. The snake in the back yard took a little coaxing to get out from under the heater but I was able to grab it. The home has the preserve across the street. This was a male and female rattlesnake. They are getting our fencing installed next week. |

6:00 PM |
Scottsdale | 85259 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called after seeing a rattlesnake on the side of their home near the pool pump. This was a brand new fence client, however, the snake was not inside the fenced area. The side yard was an enclosed area between the house and a 5-foot-tall retaining wall. Access to the back yard from this area was through a newly snake-proofed gate, and a drain hole in the block wall to get to the front yard. This is also where the pool pump and equipment was located. When I first saw the snake, it was unsuccessfully trying to find a way into the backyard through the snake fencing. When it saw me, it retreated under the large, hollow base of the pool filter. It took almost an hour of constant running water to finally flush the snake out. The snake could have entered the area at any time from above the retaining wall, which was at ground level at the top, or through the drain in the block wall. There is also a chance the snake was hiding under the base of the pool filter the entire time. Based on the amount of time and water it took to remove, it would have been nearly impossible to know that a snake was hiding inside without actually witnessing it enter. No other snakes were found. |

Scottsdale | 85266 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowners called after finding a rattlesnake curled up in a shady corner near their front door. This home in Scottsdale was surrounded by open, native desert and had a wash filled with large boulders running adjacent to the property. There was no safeguard preventing any snake from entering or exiting the front yard. The backyard was fenced off by the homeowner. No other snakes were found. |

6:30 PM |
Scottsdale | 85259 | Sonoran Gophersnake | The homeowners called stating they saw a yellow and striped snake that they could not identify calling along their wall. They insisted I come relocate the snake even though I assured them it was non-venomous and harmless. When I arrived, they reported that their neighbor came and took the snake for them to relocate it, but still wanted me to inspect the property for further snakes. I found an additional gopher snake after confirming the first snake was also a gopher snake. The Gopher snake that I found was climbing up some of their bushes along the back wall in their backyard. The home has an oasis of plant life as the homeowners are very into gardening. I gave them advice on trimming the bushes, thinner and up off the ground so that it didn't offer as much cover and homes for the snakes to find appealing. The home does have rattlesnake fencing along their gate and other areas but has a block wall. I did a thorough inspection of the front and backyard. The home is in a well-developed gated community, but it has lots of natural desert landscape and botany throughout the community that offers plenty of natural habitat as well as not being far from a local preserve and trail system. The snakes were both released together as they were suspected to be a mating pair. I had gotten in touch with the neighbor who is a local herper that I know well and we got to release the snakes as a pair |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner had some painters at his house when one of them said he saw a rattlesnake in his backyard. They lost sight of it but I found it coiled under some stacked bricks not far from where they saw it. The home has a view fence and backs up to desert with some big boulders behind it that looked like perfect snake habitat. |

Scottsdale | 85255 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | A homeowner who lives out of state part of the year and uses this home as his snowbird/vacation home was contacted by his monthly window cleaner because they found a rattlesnake in the courtyard of the home. The home has a maze of a courtyard going through the center of it surrounded by a block wall fence system some of the outermost block walls have view fences and a series of gates. The home is in a developed gated community that has desert landscaping and lots of rock features. The back side of the community has a small remaining patch of natural habitat. The homeowner is interested in rattlesnake proofing the property. Overall, it may be easy to do if the outermost fencing and block walls are fenced, I will let him know the fencing team could be in contact with him to discuss what it would take to Rattlesnake proof the yard/courtyard. The snake had to be driven slightly out of range to the nearest natural preserve area as the community is only adjacent to very small remaining sections of natural habitat that seem to connect directly to the golf course and other plots of homes. The snake was released in the preserve, in a wash, in a deep series of holes/tunnels within the root system of a dead tree that had an adjoining pack rat nest. |
