Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner spotted the snake by the front door. It was a baby rattlesnake. It was acting really weird. It kept opening its mouth and moving as if it had some sort of head trauma. I didn’t notice and wounds on the snake. When I pulled up a cat ran off and the snake did have some fur in its mouth. So I’m not sure if the cat was messing with it. Two weeks ago, their dog was bitten in the backyard by a rattlesnake. They never saw it but the vet confirmed and the dog is ok. They had a shed in the back yard and a few other areas the snake could have been hanging out for a few weeks. The home had a wash behind it and desert a few houses down. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Received a call regarding rattlesnake inside of a garage. Arrived at property and was greeted by customer and daughter who were watching the snake with garage door open. Noted a juvenile atrox in corner nearest garage door entrance. Snake was rattling but it was not very loud. Used tongs to capture snake. Snake struck at tongs but I was able to bucket it without further incident. Inspected garage afterward and found no other snakes or signs of snake activity. I did note that the garage seal nearest to where the snake was seemed to be coming off and I suspect this is where the snake entered. I addressed this with customer. Customer has desert wash that runs both north and west of the neighborhood. |
