7:00 PM		 Glendale 85310 Sonoran Gophersnake Client called with a report of an aggressive snake on the front porch. Upon arrival, the snake was immediately identified as a Sonoran Gophersnake. In true Gophersnake fashion, it was aggressively hissing and striking. I was able to contain the snake without incident. A courtesy inspection of the front and rear yards was completed. Client was provided with advice on reducing desirability for snake activity. ie - trim large lantanas, eliminate potted plants near the entry way and keep items of the ground in the rear yard.

2:30 PM		 Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Client called with a report of a rattlesnake at a retirement home she manages/owns. \r\n\r\nStaff on site were able to observe the snake originating near the pool equipment and then settling into a coiled position against the perimeter wall. \r\n\r\nStaff directed me to the snake which I positively identified as a Western Diamondback. \r\nThe snake was removed without incident. \r\n\r\nDuring my courtesy inspection, I was able to determine that the snake was likely spending the winter under the pool equipment as there is a massive underground rodent structure with clear smoothing at the egress point, indicative of a snake exiting. \r\n\r\nThe only water source on the property was unable to reach the area so the client was advised to immediately employ someone to properly collapse/backfill the area and repair the broken travertine tiles by the pool.

Upon arrival I was able to determine that it was a gopher snake, and it was very deceased. It was already full of maggots and falling apart. I reluctantly scooped up as much as I could of it and put it in my bucket to dispose. No other snakes were removed.

1:30 PM		 Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Homeowner spotted a rattlesnake under a bush near the back patio. When I arrived the snake was stretched out under the same bush, likely enjoying the shade and moisture. The property has quite a large amount of vegetation but it is well kept in the rear yard. No additional snakes were recovered.

12:00 PM		 Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called after a contractor working in the home spotted a rattlesnake eating a small rabbit in the front yard. After watching the snake for several minutes, it slipped down into a hole in the ground under a bench. I gently flooded the hole and the snake emerged soon after. Once the snake was secured in the bucket, we began to walk around the property to look for other snakes and talk about prevention. The home is just outside of the Thunderbird Conservation Park. It is a large lot with a view fence surrounding the back yard and pool area. Beyond the veiw fence is an open area with unoccupied horse stalls and a few old tack sheds. There is a wash running parallel to the property with lots of thick vegetation. Most of the landscaping on the property has only recently been planted and has not yet matured. I did a search of the garage which had a lot of boxes and other household items as the home was being remodeled. The seal on the garage door was brand new and in excellent condition. The homeowners are great candidates for snake fencing and would like to be contacted.

7:30 AM		 Glendale 85310 Kingsnake The homeowner called after seeing a Kingsnake resting up against the house along the back edge of the patio. I have been to this Glendale home before. It sits just feet from a large, native wash. The yard has several sheds, irrigated landscaping, and a pool, all of which are kept very tidy. There is a gap under the gate leading to the front yard, perfect for a snake of this size. I searched the yard, but no additional snakes were found.

2:30 PM		 Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Rattlesnake was found under a dumpster. It had struck a service worker while they were walking by, and the homeowners wanted it removed. They had just had a snake in March removed by us and by comparing photos, I reassured them it was a different snake. I also spent time educating on aggressive vs defensive and because it was under the trash can that was being used, it acted more defensively due to the commotion. They have gotten a quote for snake fencing from us before and are still thinking about it.

12:00 AM		 Glendale 85310 Nightsnake The owner of a home in Glendale called after seeing a small snake disappear behind the cabinets in his laundry room. I was able to use an endoscope and see that it was a small Nightsnake. The homeowner elected to remove several of the baseboards under the cabinets and I was eventually able to remove the snake. The home was in northern Glendale on a large lot. There was a fair amount of native habitat surrounding the property. It was a newer build and not entirely known how the snake entered the home.

6:00 PM		 Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The owner of a home in North Glendale called after she thought she heard a rattlesnake rattling in her living room, possibly from behind the entertainment center. By the time I arrived, it was confirmed and I removed an adult Western Diamondback from behind some potted plants next to the entertainment center. The homeowners are sure that the snake came in through the front door as it had been open for some time earlier in the day. They were an extremely nice couple and seemed completely unfazed even after finding a rattlesnake in their living room. The house sits directly across the street from some state trust and city property, both of which are open, native desert. I asked if they would like me to search for other snakes in or around the property, but they said that it would not be necessary.

Estivation Site as likely as the neighbor has seen several rattlesnakes in the last few days and heavy brush clearing occurred in the empty lot behind the houses. Captured the snake search for others did not find any then advised keeping an eye out for the next few weeks just in case others are present.

Received a call about a snake in the parking lot of an assisted living facility I’ve been to twice before. Customer stated that staff had eyes in the snake and would keep them there until I arrived. Once on property I was greeted by two staff members standing by a car near the main entrance of the facility which was on the east side of the property. One of the staff members stated when she arrived to work and got out of her car, she unknowingly kicked the snake and initially thought she kicked a stick. She then realized it was a snake which began moving underneath her car. Customer stated snake never rattled. I looked underneath the car and noticed a juvenile atrox with body stretched out and head raised. Snake appeared observant towards me. I utilized hook to bring the snake closer and then utilized tongs to capture. Once tonged snake escaped once and rattled briefly before coiling. Used tongs again to capture and bucketed without incident. Performed a brief inspection of the east side of the property. This was 3rd atrox I have relocated from this property with the previous 2 being juveniles and the first being a neonate. Two have been captured near the front entrance (north east side of property) which is the furthest from open habitat but I suspect snakes are coming from the Agua Fria.

The homeowner did not seem interested in fencing at this time, but was advised to trim up the many bushes in the backyard and to cleanup the clutter piled against the walls.

7:00 PM		 Peoria 85308 Nightsnake The homeowner called about a snake in her kitchen. I asked for a picture for identification and determined it to be a Nightsnake. I explained that it was completely harmless, but she wanted it removed from her home. When I arrived, they had it cornered with a dustpan. After monitoring it for a few minutes to ensure that it was not harmed, I removed it from the home.

9:00 PM		 Peoria 85308 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner first called about a rattlesnake in the house but was able open the front door and let it find it's way out. Not long after they called again. The same snake had found its way into the back yard and was sheltering under some landscaping. From the front door, it was easy to see how the snake could have followed the wall around to a drain hole leading into the backyard. There was a small amount of landscaping and patio furniture for the snake to shelter under, but it was not clear that the snake had over wintered on the property. The homeowner suspects that the snake entered the home when the sliding glass patio door was left slightly open. The house was located near a small mountain with some native desert but was situated deep into the neighborhood with no direct or safe travel route. I searched the rest of the property but did not find any additional snakes.
