Phoenix | 85083 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Customer call found a rattlesnake in the backyard garden. I arrived and observed the tail of the rattlesnake at the base of a thick bush. The snake did exit the area of the bush. At the direction of the customer I removed the bush. No snake was found, and considering all observations, I believe the snake went underground. I completed a visual walk around both front and back yards. I identified a small hole in the block wall and informed the customer of it. |

Entered front gate and followed walkway to the front door where I observed a juvenile atrox in defensive posture maybe 3 feet from front door against wall. Used tongs to capture snake with no issue. Performed inspection of rest of the courtyard and backyard and found no other snakes. Both areas largely free of clutter or overgrown landscaping plants. Provided education on snake behavior and offered customer a free fencing quote to which he accepted. I suspect snake entered through front gate and sought refuge as courtyard was north facing.
