Cave Creek | 85262 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called about a rattlesnake in his backyard. It was coiled up in between stacks of roofing shingles. I was able to catch it as soon as I arrived. This was a prior fence customer, but it has been out of warranty for several years. The fence still looked like it was in great shape. The homeowner said he was pretty sure that a landscaper left his gate open long enough for the snake to find its way in. At the request of the homeowner, I am submitting a fence ticket for someone to take a look at the fence just in case. |

New River | 85087 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Very nice couple who have had one rattlesnake in the past. The snake was located in their front courtyard, enjoying the shade. Their backyard and side yard were immaculate, with minimalistic styling and no clutter. They were wondering why the snake chose their front yard, as it was also very minimalistic, but the courtyard provided excellent shade for the animal. It was a small neonate rattlesnake, but over two weeks old, as no siblings or mother were found nearby. |

She called me about 45 minutes later and said the snake was under the same shrub. When I arrived, the snake was again nowhere to be found. After about 10 minutes of searching, I found the snake in the shrub about 4 feet off the ground. |

Phoenix | 85024 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Last night we were out at this house, and Maggie got a western diamondback from this backyard. Today, the homeowner, being a little on edge, went and looked around the backyard and saw another rattlesnake coiled up behind some stacked wood he had. This was a large male rattlesnake. I’m not sure what sex the rattlesnake was. Maggie got it, but he could have smelled the female if it were a female last night. His backyard was pretty clear, but he had stacked wood and Halloween decorations on the side of his yard, and that was where the snake was .This area has desert around it, but also has a lot of recent destruction for new homes. |

Cave Creek | 85262 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | This is a fence customer of ours. His dog was barking, so he looked outside and saw the rattlesnake up against his back fence in the fenced secured area. He got his dog in, and the snake climbed up onto the block ledge and was trying to get over the mesh, but could not. I searched around the yard for any possible ways in and did find that some of the mesh on the view fence was puckered up, and some rocks got wedged in there; it was puckered up and could have possibly been the entry point. This home is really close to the desert preserve, and there are lots of great habitats around. |
