Tucson 85710 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake A homeowner called when they found a juvenile Western Diamondback Rattlesnake in their backyard early in the morning. Although not the way they wanted to start their Sunday morning, I arrived quickly to remove the snake. When I arrived, I observed a complex situation that many don’t get to witness- predation in real time. The rattlesnake recently struck a Desert Spiny Tail lizard, and was patiently waiting for the venom to do its job. Disrupting a hunt isn’t ideal, but having a rattlesnake in your yard is even less ideal. I secured the rattlesnake and its soon-to-be meal in the bucket, and released it to nearby habitat within its home range. I sent the rattlesnake down into a packrat nest and placed the lizard inside the entrance of the burrow, that way the snake could finish what it started.

Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The caller spotted a rattlesnake coiled under a bush she was about to trim. When I arrived the snake was still sitting in ambush looking particularly regal. The snake was quickly removed without incident. During my inspection, I located multiple sheddings at different locations on the property and they appeared to be from separate individuals. I made several recommendations to the homeowners to reduce the number of attractive features of their yards.

Tucson 85750 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This homeowner called when he discovered a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake cruising around his cactus garden in the backyard. I arrived quickly and secured this docile adult in the bucket. I was able to find nearby habitat to release the snake into that was still within its home range. Although, this rattlesnake hit the jackpot for a new home. I found a large active freshwater stream near a canyon that made for the perfect new home. I found an active rodent den alongside the stream that was teeming with vegetation and life. Having an abundant food and water source will set this animal up for success and live a long, healthy life without human conflict.

Phoenix 85083 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake A concerned citizen called with a report of a rattlesnake entering under a locked door by the public bathrooms at Deem Hills park. I was able to reach the park rangers via the police department. Once they finally arrived and unlocked the door, I was able to immediately see the snake sitting in ambush. I removed the snake without incident. No other snakes recovered.

Tucson 85742 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This homeowner called when he was spraying for ants in his front yard and encountered a Western Diamondback Rattlesnake. He called us and I quickly responded to come get the snake. When I arrived, the snake was moving alongside the house. I was able to get the snake, secure it in the bucket, and release it into a deep rodent burrow in a nearby wash within its native home range.

Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowners called after the neighbors saw a rattlesnake cross the road into their front yard, they saw the snake bedded down and curled up in the lantana bushes/ground cover near their front door. When I arrived they were sitting nearby keeping watch of the snake, but it had just started to move away a few feet from where they had last eyes on it, but I immediately noticed it and bucketed the snake. The home is the first corner property adjacent to a broken-up desert habitat within well-developed gated communities. They are 3x repeat removal customers and have snake fencing for the backyard.

Phoenix 85020 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called saying there was a rattlesnake curled up by his front door way. When I arrived several neighbors were huddled in the driveway. The home is situated on a cliffside adjacent to the Phoenix mountain preserve with lots of rock covering and nearby habitat. The rattlesnake was as described curled up behind a large pot near the front doorway. The homeowner expressed concern over his dog who alerted him of the snake, so I educated them on rattlesnake fencing and rattlesnake aversion training both of which they were very interested in.

Carefree 85377 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The caller reported a juvenile western diamondback coiled up on the back patio. When I arrived the snake was under a large storage bin and in a coiled position. I was able to quickly remove the snake without incident. An inspection was performed and no additional snakes were recovered. The rear side gate is the only place the snake could have made entry. As such, I advised client to mirror the protection that is on the other gate to ensure he does not have a rattlesnake in the rear yard again.

Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake A large western diamondback was seen in a raised flower bed with lots of shade and moisture. When I arrived, the snake had moved further down behind some very dense foliage. I was able to locate a very sizable, male, Western Diamondback. I performed a property inspection and found a fairly new shedding from another smaller Atrox. The property is massive and there is an incredible abundance of prey items, shelter and water. This property will likely be no stranger to us and will most likely have calls in the future.

Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Rattlesnake in front yard. Homeowners are currently doing construction of their house and adding a pool. Beccause they are going to tear down the wall for the pool addition, they do not need snake fencing in that area yet but they do have an enclosed garbage can area with side gate, another enclosed area on the opposite side of the house and a third front entry courtyard area in the meantime. They would like a recommendation for a new, large front gate as well but I told her I do not know if we have a connection like that. Solid walls all around home so fencing would just be flood holes and gates. Wife is from Australia and petrified of rattlesnakes and coyotes. They have a boxer dog and she would not be reassured that this dog was too big for a coyote to mess with.

7:30 PM
Mesa 85215 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called stating their young nephew was in the back yard behind the workshop area where rocks are piled and he ran in informing him he spotted a rattlesnake, the homeowner found the snake actively crawling along the rocks, they tracked it as long as they could while waiting on my arrival. When I arrived the homeowner met me outside the garage/workshop and led me to the back door where it was first seen then guided me along the path to a gate where they last saw it suspecting it went under a large plastic chest. However the snake was not under the chest so I followed the wall behind the gated area where there were piles of brick and tile and spotted the snakes head poking out from under the tiles. I got the Rattlesnake out and contained it in the bucket for release into desert habitat away from buildings. The home is situated in a built up series of gated communities but not far from some natural desert preserve areas, there is lots of new construction near by. The snake was driven up to the desert habitat beyond the construction area and small mining operation and put into a pack rat nest.

Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Dispatched a call about a baby rattlesnake in the side yard. Arrived at home and was greeted by the homeowner who escorted me to the backyard. The customer stated they initially noticed a snake on the back patio on the north end of the home and it slowly made its way to the side yard on the west. Snake eventually settled underneath a metal ramp that was on the ground. Lifted the ramp and noticed a small (< 1 year) atrox in ambush. Utilized giant tweezers to capture and secure the snake with no issue. Performed inspection for the rest of the yard and no snakes were found. *** Customer stated that they had a fencing quote from RS before but did not move forward with it. The customer would like to have fencing installed now. ***

Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowners called us after seeing a rattlesnake in their chicken coop. This home was in a rural area just outside of Cave Creek and surrounded by native desert. The snake was found resting in a shady area inside of the coop. There were no chickens present at the time. The property was large, with a lot of places to hide including sheds, other structures, animal enclosures, and various gardens and landscaping. I searched as much as possible and was surprised to not find any additional snakes.

Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called after seeing a rattlesnake on the side of his home headed towards the back yard. I arrived and took a quick look around the back yard, which was small, clean and completely empty. There was almost no landscaping and very few structures to hide under. Around the opposite side of the home from where the snake was last seen, there was a small stack roof tiles left over from a recent project. The snake was found hiding under one of these tiles, which was the only shade available in the immediate area. The property was in the middle of a development, but situated in between two natural drainages, both of which led out to more native habitat.

Phoenix 85085 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner contacted us after discovering a small rattlesnake at the bottom of a deep basement window well. There were recently hatched quail eggs at the top of the window well, and a dead baby quail at the bottom near the snake. The home sat on the boundary of lots of native desert on State Trust land. The yard had a lot of irrigated landscaping, piles of firewood, and lots of other places to hide. Surprisingly, no snake has ever been discovered on the property. I searched the property and did not find anything else.

Mesa 85207 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowners called after going to take their trash out to the road and they heard the buzzing of a small rattlesnake. They spotted the snake and called our hotline to which I came out and the snake was as described behind the garbage cans. The snake was extremely small still for this time of year, but I noticed that it had some old injuries that looked as though they had healed at this point. Perhaps stunting its growth a bit. I contained the snake and brought it to the next nearby desert habitat and released it appropriately into deep cover with lots of nearby resources. The home it was relocated from is in a gated community that sits against the mountainside of a small local Mountain with lots of natural habitat. The home has partially block fencing and partially view fencing, but we discussed the potential of rattlesnake-proofing their backyard. They also have dogs. They are interested in getting rattlesnake aversion training or at least doing the fencing to protect them in the backyard.

Tucson 85742 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This homeowner is no stranger to rattlesnakes, as she’s called us in the past to remove rattlesnakes at her old property. She called after her husband found a Western Diamondback sitting in ambush against the retaining wall in the backyard. This rattlesnake alerted the husband with its rattle before he even knew it was there. When I arrived, I secured the snake in the bucket and found a suitable nearby habitat to release the snake into. A deep rodent burrow underneath a dead Saguaro in a nearby wash ended up being the perfect spot, as I found another Western Diamondback sitting in ambush not too far away.

Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake A contractor at a new home build discovered a small rattlesnake on the side of the home in the shade under an AC drain line. The home was being built at a new golf course community not far from open, native desert. As always, I took a look around the rest of the property. The backyard was virtually empty. There was a pool, but no mature landscaping yet. There was a view fence with a very low footer separating the yard from the golf course. I did not find any other snakes, but I did leave our snake id/fence information behind for the homeowner when they move in.

Scottsdale 85258 Western Diamondback and Coachwhip Karen had workers doing some yard work around her pool when they noticed a snake within her agave plant wedged between her pool and the fence. After taking a closer look, they noticed there were two: a coachwhip and a rattlesnake literally right next to each other. Karen also had snake fencing that was installed by the previous owner. Upon inspection, i noticed many areas where rats dug under that potentially created an entryway for the snakes.

Phoenix 85024 Western Diamondback The pest guy saw the mother Diamondback coiled up by the AC unit. When I went to grab her, she zipped into a nearby large hole going under the foundation of the home. This hole went deep. I put a hose in there, and after about 20 minutes of water, I got the mother. When I went to get the hose to put it away, I saw a baby rattlesnake come out of this hole. I then continued watering for an hour, and finally it flooded up, and I retrieved five baby rattlesnakes. The home has a view fence and is on a desert hillside with more desert around the corner.

Home owner sent me a photograph to identify but could not be more specific than that it was not a rattlesnake, and gave the option to leave it in place or have us out. Home owner opted to have us come out, where it was discovered that the snake was actually a Tiger Whiptail, looking to be displaced and a bit rough from recent rainfall.
