8:00 AM		 Phoenix 85027 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake An employee at a warehouse called after seeing a rattlesnake near some stacked-up pallets. By the time I arrived, the snake had moved into the shade of a large trailer. The warehouse was adjacent to Deer Valley Airport. The only small patch of native habitat nearby was part of the airport and not accessible to me. Nobody that I talked to at the facility had ever seen a snake on the property before. I had to drive down the road a little over a mile before I got to a patch of state trust land where I could release the snake.

12:30 PM		 Phoenix 85024 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was out back with his dog when his dog went to drink its water and it suddenly jumped back. He saw then that the dog had been bitten by a rattlesnake. He got the dog to the vet and called. After a long search, I found the snake in some thick saw grass covered pretty well and hard to see. The home had a view fence and had some desert behind it. A lot of the desert behind their home has become 2000 new homes. They still have quite a bit of desert on the other side of their home just outside the community.

Another snake had been removed from the same porch about a week ago. This home was in Scottsdale, surrounded by native habitat and just across the street from a desert preserve. The back yard has snake fencing that had been installed by us but the homeowner did not need me to look at it as it had been looked at only last week.

When I arrived the Western Diamondback was slithering through the parking lot, looking pretty lost. The area is surrounded by desert but is undergoing development so the animals are likely being displaced at this point.

7:30 AM		 Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was out back with her dogs when she heard them bark and then a rattle. Some are snake-trained and some aren’t but she was able to get everyone inside safely. The snake then moved under some nearby cover from a bench and that’s where I grabbed it. The yard is large but not a lot of hiding spots. She did say she thought she heard a rattle yesterday by the pool equipment. The home is really close to a lot of desert.

7:00 AM		 Anthem 85086 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Western diamondback in backyard near grill area. This is somehow the first snake in 5-10 years in their backyard. Two brothers who live together. There is snake fencing that came with the house that looks unprofessional with many gaps and not adhered to the wall on the view fencing. Concrete block wall on the side of the house with one side gate (bricks piled underneath the side gate in an attempt to keep critters out). They would love a fencing quote as soon as possible.

11:30 AM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Homeowners were having a FIFA soccer party when they saw a rattlesnake on their porch. They watched it go into a hole in their outdoor fridge and barbecue cabinets. After finally obtaining the snake, I found a packrat nest underneath these cabinets and lots of rat poop. They have had snakes before but did not want to have this problem anymore. They are very interested in rattlesnake fencing as soon as possible. One of the party goers said they got their fencing through us and vouched that it works perfectly.

The house backed up to open desert and the homeowner installed snake fencing had gaps in multiple locations. The snake was relocated just outside the neighborhood into a packrat nest.

6:00 AM		 Phoenix 85083 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called us after having a close encounter with a rattlesnake on her back porch. She was letting her small dog out when she saw the snake near the sliding glass door, just before accidentally stepping on it. She was startled but the snake did not attempt to strike at her or her dog. The snake retreated behind a wicker couch where it stayed until I arrived. The home was across the street from a large mountain preserve, and the backyard was virtually empty. It was wide open with no landscaping. There was an RV gate on the side with a large gap underneath. The shade of the back porch and the wicker patio furniture were about the only cover available for the snake. I did not find any other snakes.

7:30 AM		 Sun City 85375 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake We were called out to a Sun City home after the homeowner\'s dog alerted them to a rattlesnake crossing the back patio area. This was a shady and heavily landscaped back yard. There was DIY snake fencing around 3/4 of the yard. The fence that was shared with the next-door neighbor\'s, however, had only chicken wire installed. The home was on a golf course, but the surrounding area was open creosote flats. The snake was hiding behind some patio furniture when I arrived. No other snakes were found.

I was able to locate the snake in a bush and safely capture it. It was relocated within a mile of the capture location into thick brush after dark.

The homeowner opened the garage and the snake crawled inside where they placed a bucket on top of it. This is a new neighborhood with lots of surrounding desert and open access to the property.

When I arrived, the snake was in the exact same spot. The snake was contained and taken just north of the property and released into a large pile of illegally dumped yard debris that other animals had clearly been using as a burrow.

11:30 PM		 Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Homeowner called about a large Diamondback in her backyard. When I arrived the snake was cruising around the yard. The home is surrounded by open desert and has a preserve right across the street and is no stranger to rattlesnakes as they have had us out a few times before. The yard is large and has a perimeter view fence with no fencing so snakes have a lot of areas to hang out in the yard.

12:30 AM		 Tucson 85756 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Worker was out managing trucks when he noticed a snake coiled along the entrance bay to the warehouse. Having identified the snake they called for removal. The surrounding area of where the snake was located is a small strip patch of desert that separates two warehouses. The area in which the snake was found was an entrance bait into a warehouse that is comprised of concrete with no natural coverage.

The snake was still there when I arrived, and it was captured and relocated northeast of the property into a packrat nest under a large tree just outside a wash.

8:30 PM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The owner of a home in Scottsdale called after seeing a rattlesnake curled up in the rocks near his driveway. This was certainly not the first snake that he had seen on the property, and not the first time we had been called out. The home is in a gated development on the side of a mountain and borders a large area of native desert. There is a large wash that cuts down the mountain just in front of the home. I searched the rest of the property and did not find any other snakes.

10:30 AM		 Tucson 85705 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake I arrived on scene and was greeted by the homeowner. Homeowner showed me a flower pot where the snake was located. I transferred the snake into my bucket with no incident. I cleared the scene and relocated the snake.

12:30 PM		 Phoenix 85085 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Security personnel from the W.L. Gore & Associates campus called us after finding a rattlesnake coiled up in the shade near the back door of an office building. The snake had just consumed a large meal and had not moved from where it was discovered. The campus is located just east of the I-17 not far from the Sonoran Mountain Preserve. The immediate area surrounding the property is developed and has a lot of traffic, but there is also plenty of native desert close enough to be easily accessed by the snake.

12:30 PM		 Phoenix 85042 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This was at an elementary school. One of the young kids saw it while playing on the playground. This was a really large rattlesnake. It went into a rodent hole but only coiled up right in the entrance so I was able to grab it. The school itself did not have any vegetation or cover around. They had two large trees. This snake found the hole under that. The school was a block from South Mountain Preserve. They said they couldn’t pay so I just went and grabbed it.

1:30 PM		 Surprise 85379 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The owner of a home in Surprise called after seeing a rattlesnake curled up in the shade of a tree in her front yard. I was a little surprised to get a rattlesnake call this far east of the White Tank Mountains. The property is located about a block away from Shadow Ridge High School on the edge of a development, with some undeveloped native Creosote scrub bordering the yard. The entire area will soon be completely developed. I asked about looking in the backyard, but the homeowner did not think it was necessary, as there was very little landscaping and no shade.

We’re not sure if this is a baby from one of those that was still stuck in the wall or not, but it could be. Was a neonate atrox, could very well have been from the neighbors.

The snake was in the same location when I arrived. Easily grabbed and relocated just north of the neighborhood into a rodent burrow that was shaded by bushes.

9:00 PM		 Phoenix 85085 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Received a call about a rattlesnake at an apartment complex. Arrived at a brand-new complex that wasn’t there last year and met callers outside in the parking lot. Callers had a stockpot on top of the snake. Removed the pot and noted a neonate atrox. Used large tweezers to capture and bucket with no issue. Performed a brief inspection of the immediate area and no other snakes were found.

6:30 AM		 Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Baby rattlesnake found on front porch that looked to be less than two weeks old. This is the second rattlesnake in 4 years. The other was found in their pool. The front yard had desert landscaping with some bushes that could be trimmed higher but it was pretty minimalistic. Encouraged her not to leave her garage door open unattended. Checked the garage and backyard and no other babies were found. Dog is already trained by Rattlesnake Ready.

6:30 AM		 Phoenix 85028 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The owner of a home in Phoenix called after her dogs alerted her to a large rattlesnake in her backyard. This was a 1-acre yard with a wall all the way around. There are gates on either side of the home and a few drain holes near the front. The yard has a pool and irrigated landscaping, but there is a lot of wide open space. Around the wall is a lot of built-up clutter, including brick and wood piles, a garden, several old, large brush piles, and a chicken coop. The two dogs are a large breed, but very nice. I found the snake under a pallet near where the dogs had seen it earlier. I then walked the property but did not find any other snakes.

The home sits up against a desert preserve and a canal, and the owner told me that they frequently get snakes. I searched the rest of the yard but did not find any other snakes.

I was able to water the snake out and get it. The yard is large but very clean and well-kept. They have a view fence that backs up to the rocky mountainside. They also have a large enclosed courtyard that has some water features.

It then went and coiled up under a thick rosemary bush and that’s where I got it. This community center has well watered grass and vegetation and is across the street from the preserve.

6:30 AM		 Tucson 85742 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake I arrived on scene and was greeted by the homeowner. The homeowner took me through the house and to the back yard. The homeowners back yard was thick with vegetation and multiple bird baths on the ground. I found the diamondback underneath the grill by the side of the house. I transferred the snake to my bucket via tongs. The snake was extremely agitated. I spoke with the homeowner about the bird baths and how they can attract snakes. The homeowner stated they had two snakes in their yard yesterday. I advised the homeowner to call again if they see another one. I cleared scene and returned in service.

I met the homeowner there who did not see the snake either, he then showed me a blown-up, blurry picture of a rattlesnake. At that time I didn’t realize it was a baby who had a big meal in his belly. The snake was found again later in the day hiding in a small area under the door jam and behind a very thick doormat. I was able to secure it this time and safely relocate it. This house is surrounded by natural desert.

They saw the snake while taking out their garbage can. The snake had not moved by the time I arrived and I was able to capture it. The yard is exposed, has a lot of rocks and vegetation, and has no fencing. The small community has high exposure to the nearby desert. I informed them that they might see a few more neonates.

I had to search for a little while after arriving, as the snake had moved from its original position. The courtyard where it was found was dotted with landscaping. I found the neonate Western Diamondback a short time later moving along a wall. I continued to search the immediate area for any possible siblings but did not find any. A week earlier, I had removed an adult female and another neonate from the same courtyard, so I released this one into the same area that I released the others.

The homeowner stated his wife was watering a plant in a pot out front and saw a baby rattlesnake. I located the snake and used the tweezers to transfer it to my bucket. I asked the homeowner if he wanted me to look around and he said yes. The homeowner stated he left his garage open so I looked in there and found nothing. The homeowner had snake fencing to his backyard ( not from us ). Homeowner had no bird baths or irrigation lines out front. There was sparse vegetation out front.
