Arrived at the customer’s home and was greeted at the front door. The customer pointed out where the snake was. I saw a small juvenile gophersnake against the baseboard hidden by the curtain. I used my hands to capture and bucket a the snake with no incident. I Inspected the backyard and the rest of the home. No other snakes were found. Home was in an urbanized area, but there was some desert habitat northeast of a canal that bordered the property. There was a small drainage wash behind the home. I suspect the snake came from the drainage wash and into the backyard through the side gates as that was the only point of entry. The customer stated they left the back patio door slightly open because of the nice weather. Provided the customer some education on snake behavior this time of year. Informed the customer that snakes are rarely seen in the area of his home. |
