Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Sonoran Gophersnake, Kingsnake | Rattlesnake coiled by fountain Arrived and was informed by the client that a diamondback was discovered by the fountain repairman, who would not return until the snake was removed. Captured the diamondback fairly easily. Inspected the boulder behind the fountain, which was covered with vines. Found a bush littered with various snake skins. Found a gopher snake hiding in the bush. While attempting to capture the gopher snake, found a kingsnake. Made the customer aware that the bush behind the fountain, on top of a rock in the corner of his yard/house, is not a good idea. The customer is a longstanding client who is very aware that his property is covered in rattlesnakes and rattlesnake habitat and seems to be okay with that. |

Apache Junction | 85120 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Homeowner called with rattlesnake in dog run on side of house. Snake most likely came right in the front drainage hole and curled up after getting scared by the dog. I was able to remove the snake from its hiding under some concrete blocks and relocate it to a very heavily vegetated wash next to a large water source. |

Sun City | 85373 | Nightsnake | The homeowner woke up to her living room being a mess from her cat. She noticed her cat trying to catch something then saw it was a snake. She put a trash bin over it not knowing what it was. It was a nightsnake and was not harmed by the cat. The doors were all sealed well but she does leave the back patio open sometimes for the cat. She lives off a golf course and has a little desert behind her . |

Phoenix | 85022 | Sonoran Gophersnake | The homeowner was out in the backyard with her dogs when she saw them barking at something. She heard what she thought was a rattlesnake and got the dogs inside. The snake was somewhat up in a tree, more at the base but elevated at that time. It then moved under a bush. It ended up being a gopher snake. The home didn’t have much in the yard and no cover. They had a block fence with a drainage along the side that was close to the preserve. |

Gilbert | 85298 | Mojave Rattlesnake | The homeowner was watering some plants when she spotted the Mojave coiled under a plant by a drip system. The yard had some plants here and there with drip systems. The home was about half a mile from what remained of the football-field-sized chunk of desert. They were actively destroying it as I was there, building a waterpark. Besides that, there were some farm fields nearby, but mostly homes. |

Oro Valley | 85737 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner saw a neonate WDB as it was disappearing into some beargrass. As soon as I arrived, another member of the household emerged with a small dog that had swelling on the right side of its snout. The homeowner was upset because she had just had us out in May for a renewal. I couldn’t find her in the database, but she was able to produce a receipt, which I included in the note for the fencing team. |

Phoenix | 85085 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner was alerted by his dogs to a rattlesnake in his backyard. He did not watch the snake, and by the time I arrived, it appeared to be gone. I did a thorough search of his front and back yard. The only exit or entry was the side gate. He then decided to call his next-door neighbor to see if the snake had moved into his yard. The neighbor let me into his back yard, and I found the snake immediately. It was working its way around the back wall. The home is located very near a desert/mountain preserve with a lot of great habitat. |

When I arrived, I found a scrawny Northern Black-tailed rattlesnake, apparently a male, coiled in a corner by some patio furniture. The home is at the base of a rocky hillside and has a pool and lots of plants. The snake may have come for water. |

Florence | 85132 | Mojave Rattlesnake | The homeowner called about what they thought was a rattlesnake in their backyard. They heard a rattle but never saw the snake. When I arrived, I discovered a decent-sized Mojave rattlesnake curled up between some flower pots. The yard was small, and most of the space was occupied by a pool, but some good hiding spots were still available for even a larger snake such as this one. The snake was released into a rodent burrow at the base of a creosote bush within its estimated home range. |

12:00 PM |
Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner had her dogs out in her courtyard this morning when they were rattled at by a rattlesnake under a nearby lantana. Her dogs are snake-trained, so they backed away and went inside. She tried to squirt it with a hose and poke it to make it leave, but after a while, when it didn’t budge, she called us. That lantana was the only shady plant in the courtyard and the entire front yard besides the porch. She has a lot of land, but it doesn’t have much on it and is very hot. While searching around, I found a coachwhip shed and a gopher snake shed. The home has some desert around it in between homes with big lots, so it is very hard to access. I went a little further to a more wide-open area for the relocation. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner was out feeding the horses and saw this Western Diamondback stretched out in front of the barn. By the time I arrived, the snake had moved into a horse stable and taken refuge under a cart. The property was wide open to the desert, so it could have come from anywhere. Once captured, the snake made it clear it was not interested in a ride, as it rattled the entire time up until its release into a pack rat nest. |
