In fact the snake was captured and placed in the bucket ,carried to the release point, released and subsequently redirected by me back towards the packrat nest that I wanted it to seek cover in, and never rattled at all.

It could not fit all the way under due to its girth. I used my hook and tong to get it out. The snake was extremely defensive. I was able to finally get it in bucket.
