Glendale 85310 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake There has been a mystery guest at the Arizona Model Railroading Society building who has been knocking over the model trains and causing havoc all over the layout for the past couple of weeks. Though they thought it was some neighborhood kids, the club members shrugged it off and put things back in place each week. Today the puzzling character revealed itself by laying on top of what is now dubbed "Rattlesnake Mountain." We were dispatched and able to safely remove the snake from his miniature mountain into a large, desert mountain preserve.

Mesa 85207 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner found the snake in the road out in front of his house last night. He put it in a bucket and called me today to come get it. Behind his home was a rocky hillside but that was the only desert habitat nearby. This was a small hill surrounded by homes and a highway. A few blocks away was some more desert not much that surrounded Mesa community college . I wouldn’t assume this area has many rattlesnake left because of how little habitat is around. He said the trash guy came yesterday and it was after that when he saw the neonate. I wonder if the snake had been transported to this area on accident. Either way it could not survive long in this area without being seen again so I took it to a better area.

Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was trying to find something in the back of her garage when she spotted the rattlesnake coiled under a shelf. It was hidden pretty well, so it was a great spot. She said she does go in her garage every day, but it had a lot of stuff in it, so the snake could hide pretty well. The garage did have gaps underneath that the snake could fit under. The home had a drainage behind it that led to the open desert.

0 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Two ladies called me, saying they spotted a rattlesnake stuck to a sticky trap on their walk through the desert. They saw it the day before and said it was still moving this morning. They sent me a pin and I headed that way. The snake was in some desert on the edge of a community. The snake had probably gotten stuck to the trap in a garage and was tossed. I was able to safely get the snake off the trap with only minor scale damage that it will survive.

Tucson 85710 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This customer called because a friend had seen a rattlesnake in a storage area under her mobile home, but had lost sight of it. When I arrived, I removed some boxes from the storage space and found the snake, a juvenile Western Diamondback Rattlesnake. The property was only maybe 30 yards from Pantano Wash, and I assume that’s where the snake came from. I

Oro Valley 85737 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake This customer called about a snake in a glue trap. They had been working on repairing a rodent-damaged garage door and had removed the bottom seal. This afternoon, they found a snake in one of their glue traps. The snake was a female Western Diamondback Rattlesnake that looked to be about a year old and the upper 1/3 of the snake was caught in the trap. I took the snake home this time because the way the snake was caught made the process a litttle more risky and i wanted to take my time. Snake is now free from glue trap and i did my best to remove as much oil as i could safely. The capture site was along a canyon/wash on the slope of a hill. There looks to be a rocky area further up the grade and that is where i plan to release the snake in the morning. Took the snake home to work on removing the glue trap safely. Will release in the morning at a rocky area i saw up the hill from the site of capture.

Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Homeowner called about a rattlesnake in his garage. When I arrived, the western diamondback was curled up in the corner closest to the garage door just beside a shelf. The homeowner did say that he had his garage open for a little bit yesterday, so it is very likely that with the warm and wet weather we have had, the snake could’ve been hanging out around the outside of the house and snuck in, or it has been here for weeks. No way to be sure. I took the snake across the street and released it into the deep cover of a large packrat nest underneath a Palo verde tree. Cave Creek.

Wickenburg 85390 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called about a baby rattlesnake that she happened to see crawl into a hole on her property. The 5-acre property was located west of Wickenburg in a very flat and sandy area with a lot of Creosote scrub. There was a pond on the property surrounded by a small riparian area which included several large packrat nests. I arrived and was able to flush the snake out with a little bit of water from a hose. I searched the property for the mother and or siblings but did not find any. The temperature at the time of capture was in the mid 50's but the daytime highs were close to 80 degrees.

Scottsdale 85255 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was on her back patio when she saw a little snake head poking out from under a large pot on her back patio. There was a dying centipede near the neonate so I’m not sure if the little one envenomated it. I was able to get the little one out from under the pot. There was also a large shedded king snake skin under there. She said she saw the king a few months before she let it stay. This was large property with a lot of vegetation but it was all very clean. Next to the big pot, about 7 feet away, was a grill island that I believe the snake was staying under for winter. She is scheduled to get our fencing done already in the spring. There is some desert just behind her back wall.

Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was doing yard work in the front yard when he saw a rattlesnake coiled by his yucca. He pushed it out of his yard but then it just sat in the road and he thought it may get hit by a car so he called to have it relocated. The snake was ok thankfully. The snake was coiled under a plant right by this guys garage and the garage had gaps in it. I believe it was hibernating in the garage and came out on a nice day. Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake A few weeks ago, I got a call from a gentleman who was having work done on his hot tub in the backyard. The hot tub guy saw two rattlesnakes at the entrance of the door going into the hot tub. One slithered to the back before I got there but I was able to grab one. A few days later the homeowner said the snake was at the entrance of the hot tub again. Maggie went but she wasn’t able to snag it before it slithered into the back again. Then a few weeks passed and he finally saw it at the entrance again today. I was able to grab it. The home backs up to some desert and the community has a lot of desert near by.
