Apache Junction | 85119 | Mojave Rattlesnake | The homeowner called about a small rattlesnake in her backyard. When I arrived, the baby Mojave rattlesnake was curled up along her back wall in the shade of a bush. Home is a little bit deep into the neighborhood, but still somewhat close to a wash so that’s likely where the snake came from. Relocated snake to the nearby desert and placed it under a creosote bush into a rodent hole. Apache Junction. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner noticed the rattlesnake half way through some chicken wire she had on her view fence. She said it was struggling to get out but couldn’t make it. When I pulled up, the snake was almost dead from being in direct sunlight, and it was 84 degrees. The snake was limp. The homeowner was trying to shade it and put water in it. I cut it free and placed it in my bucket with cool water to bring its body temperature back down. I let it hang out in bucket for awhile to gather its strength back. When I relocated it the snake was striking and had came back to life. |

Cave Creek | 85262 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Homeowner called about a small western diamondback rattlesnake in her backyard. The snake was on the move, but luckily I was able to find it very quickly when I got there. The home is very large and surrounded by open desert. The homeowner has seen multiple rattlesnakes and even a Gila monster in her yard and the surrounding area. Wildlife is just a part of their lives when living in a home like this. Snake was hiked a little bit away from the home and placed into a large rodent hole at the base of a large pile of rocks. Scottsdale. |

They watched the snake from inside, called the neighbors, and I was able to relocate the agitated snake into a bucket safely with a boisterous audience. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called about a rattlesnake in his garage. Another removal service had been called out a week prior and was unable to find it. He attempted to call them back out but was told that they were "closed for the season". When I arrived, the snake was no longer where it was last seen about an hour prior. The garage, like many, was packed full of miscellaneous clutter and it was difficult to know where to start. As I started removing items, I noticed that there was also a very significant rodent population that had been occupying the space for quite some time. In one corner, I found an old, shed skin. Several minutes later found the snake under a pile of scrap wood, frightened and doing its best to not get evicted from what was going to be an amazing winter home. |

Peoria | 85382 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Rattlesnake in beautiful backyard with an extensive collection of pots, irrigation, planted foliage, and a small pond. Homeowners kept dead leaves on the ground purposely to aid in keeping the ground and plant roots cooler. Lots of opportunities for native wildlife. They luckily did have a block wall surrounding their property. 1 drainage hole noted, one corner where there was a large gap between his neighbor's property and theirs, and 1 side gate that was unsuccessfully blocking snakes out with bricks. They are interested in seeing the cost of snake proofing this property but also may opt to do better with their own DIY efforts. Snake was easily found and relocated. The rest of the backyard was checked and no other snakes found. |

11:00 PM |
Florence | 85132 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Homeowner called about a rattlesnake curled up next to her front door. When I arrived, the western diamondback was still in the same spot. Current time is almost midnight and temps are in the high 50s, so the snake was probably not going to move until sunrise. Nearby park with well-watered grass but not much cover, the snake is most likely just trying to navigate its way out of this neighborhood and has been unsuccessful so far. I helped him out by walking him into the nearby desert and placing him in a large well insulated packrat nest at the base of a large ironwood tree. Florence. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Received a call about a baby rattlesnake on back patio. Arrived and customers escorted me to the back patio and pointed out the snake. Noticed a neonate atrox in ambush against the door of a patio chair. Snake had 2 segments and was able to rattle and did so briefly. Customers stated they heard it the night before but was alerted to it tonight by an indoor can seeing it through the glass door. Used oversized tweezers to capture and bucket with no incident. Inspected the backyard. Large yard with wash bordering to the south. Back wall had view fence but was on a reasonable high brick wall. Not sure an adult could enter through here but a neonate certainly couldn’t. Side yard on the east side of property had drainage holes and side yard on the west side had large gate. If I had to guess based on where the snake was on the patio I’d say it came in through the east. Large backyard that was well maintained but had a few areas of concern. The customer had a big woodpile behind the fireplace. Inspected it and no snakes. Large Agave americana towards the west end of the yard that had numerous dead offshoots around the base making it easy for snakes to hide but hard for humans to access. Pointed both of these out to the customer. Customer stated it’s the first rattlesnake they’ve seen on the property in 4 years they’ve lived there. Offered a free fence quote and they obliged. No other snakes found. |

Tucson | 85704 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | This customer called because they had two rattlesnakes resting in a pair of large, overgrown plants. When i arrived, one of them was there but the other, which had been disturbed by the homeowner, had quietly exited the area. A few feet from the snake was a large Desert Spiny lizard that seemed to have just died. It possibly succumbed to a bite as the homeowner described the first snake “sniffing at it” when they startled it. I brought the deceased spiny to the relocation site in case the snake decided it wanted to eat it. |
