Scottsdale | 85266 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner was getting some hay out of the barn when she noticed a rattlesnake in a pallet that was stacked beside the barn. The snake was about three pallets high. When I tried to grab it the snake went down under the pallets. I took the stack apart and discovered pack rat activity and a large hole. I started flooding the massive hole and on the opposite side of the barn water started to come out and eventually so did the snake. This is a horse property we get a few snake here a year. They have a large property surrounded by desert. |

Mesa | 85207 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner and her company from out of town were enjoying a nice pool day when a rattlesnake slithered through her view fence into the back yard. She said it slithered around trying to get out for a bit but then settled in the shade. She had some mesh on the view fence but some areas weren’t down all the way. Her yard had very little vegetation and not a lot of shade. The spot the snake coiled up under was not going to work for long. The home backs up to a golf course and a desert little mountain right off of it. |

Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Received call from an assisted living facility I had visited in August 2023. Customer stated there was a baby rattlesnake in the back of property. When I arrived staff greeted me and checked me into the facility as a contractor. Staff then escorted me to area where snake was. Once outside to a patio where I heard faint rattle of the snake. I observed a juvenile atrox in defensive pose underneath a gas grill. Patio was facing NW towards river bottom. Utilized tongs to capture snake which struck once at tongs. Once bucketed staff asked to take photos and did so from a safe distance. Staff stated that the residents of the facility have been doing a walking club and one was getting extra steps in shortly before they called when they saw the snake near the door to the patio. Staff came out when atrox moved to underneath the grill approximately 15ft away. Performed quick inspection of immediate area and noticed no other snake. I informed staff that I suspected snake came from New River as it borders a little more than half of the property in the north and west sides. The previous snake I relocated from here was a neonate. |
