2:00 AM |
Mesa | 85208 | None | Customer called and said they heard hissing coming from a corner of the yard but were not sure what it was. When I arrived whatever had been hissing was not found in the area, nor after a sweep of the yard or surrounding area. If it was a snake it likely left, or had gone into rodent hole underneath shed. Customer opted against trying to flood rodent hole. They said they would be cleaning yard up in the morning so I told them if they did see a snake at that time to call me and I would come out and remove it without additional charge. |

9:30 AM |
Phoenix | 85024 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Western diamondback in yard. Snake bit families dog and dog was taken to vet. Snake managed to get into backyard from around neighbors house and into one of two side entrances, as block wall surrounding house provided no entrances around back of house where habitat was. Snake likely wandered into back yard after managing to wander into the neighborhood and needed to find shade. Back yard had plenty of shade and cool places like pool equipment for snake to seek shelter. No evidence of rodent activity, so likely a coincidence that snake was there in my opinion. Good candidate for fencing. |
