Phoenix | 85085 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The snake was coiled up by the front door. The owners had also seen another in the backyard the previous week. New River | 85087 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Very nice couple who have had one rattlesnake in the past. The snake was located in their front courtyard, enjoying the shade. Their backyard and side yard were immaculate, with minimalistic styling and no clutter. They were wondering why the snake chose their front yard, as it was also very minimalistic, but the courtyard provided excellent shade for the animal. It was a small neonate rattlesnake, but over two weeks old, as no siblings or mother were found nearby. |

One was coiled up out in the open, and the other was deep in a bush. Both were taken and relocated to separate pack rat middens in a nearby wash. The home owners were advised to trim back the large bush that took 40 minutes of work to get the snake from. |

Cave Creek | 85262 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called about a rattlesnake in his backyard. It was coiled up in between stacks of roofing shingles. I was able to catch it as soon as I arrived. This was a prior fence customer, but it has been out of warranty for several years. The fence still looked like it was in great shape. The homeowner said he was pretty sure that a landscaper left his gate open long enough for the snake to find its way in. At the request of the homeowner, I am submitting a fence ticket for someone to take a look at the fence just in case. |

Scottsdale | 85266 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner had heard a rattle in the garage two days in a row when getting out of his car. He hadn’t seen the snake but was sure it was in the garage somewhere. Once in the garage, I started tapping my tongs on the ground, and sure enough, the rattles started. The snake was in the corner of the garage near the water softener. There was no clear entry point, as the garage was well sealed, so I imagine the snake entered when the garage door was open. Quick grab and release into a pack rat nest surrounded by open desert. |

Carefree | 85377 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Received a call regarding a rattlesnake in the pool house. When I arrived at the property, I was met outside by the customer and escorted through the backyard. The customer had kept an eye on the snake, which had moved from where it was initially spotted in the pool house. The snake had moved to the wall of the main house and was in ambush underneath a large hesperaloe. I used a hook to move the leaves of the hesperaloe out of the way to expose the snake and used tongs to capture and bucket it with no incident. The snake was a young adult atrox. The snake was noted to have a mellow demeanor during my encounter, but the customer stated that when he saw it. I performed an inspection of the rest of the backyard. The backyard was large and had considerable topography. The yard had a view fence around the entire perimeter, with snake fencing installed by another company. I noted a few holes underneath the fence. I offered a free fencing quote, which he accepted. The customer has two dogs that are often in the backyard. No other snakes were found in the yard. |

Cave Creek | 85262 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Homeowner called about a rattlesnake on his back patio. While I was on my way, he texted me informing me that there was actually a second rattlesnake as well. When I arrived, both Western Diamondbacks were stretched out along the perimeter of his patio against a wall. One male and one female, likely a bonded pair. Yard is fenced, but there are a few areas where the snakes could’ve still managed to get in. I took the snakes to a nearby trailhead and released them into some deep cover within some rocks on a north facing slope. |

Phoenix | 85085 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Received a call about two rattlesnakes on the edge of the community lawn at a concert being held at Fireside. Met the caller upon arrival, and she escorted me to the area. Approximately 200–300 people were at the event. The caller said both snakes had disappeared back into the desert. I located an adult atrox in ambush within a ring of Encelia, with a packrat nest situated on the north end of the ring. I captured the snake using tongs without incident. I pointed out the packrat nest to a staff member and encouraged them to have it removed. I searched for the other snake, making my way down into a wash that was part of the mountain preserve and unable to be landscaped. I was unable to locate the other snake. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner was cleaning up his front yard when he noticed the neonate rattlesnake on his front walkway. The little baby rattlesnake had a big bolus. It couldn’t coil up so it was just laying out straight next to a shrub in the shade. This Home’s yard was very well kept not a lot of heavy vegetation. There was some desert around throughout the homes, but nothing really large. The only close desert was blocked off getting ready to be built up. I took it a little bit further but a lot better desert. |

Waddell | 85355 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called about a rattlesnake that was coiled up next to a potted plant just outside of a gate leading to the front yard. The snake had rattled at him as he was exiting to the driveway. The home is located very close to the desert with lots of great snake habitat. * The home already had snake fencing installed when the current owner moved in. He wanted someone to come out to the house and do an assessment of the current fence to see if it needs any maintenance. This snake was found outside of the current fencing. |

Phoenix | 85054 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Homeowner in Phoenix called about a rattlesnake in his garage. When I arrived, the Western Diamondback was curled up next to a cardboard box. Homeowner is not exactly sure how the snake got into the garage, it didn’t look like there were any obvious gaps or entry points. We came to the conclusion that the snake probably made its way in when the garage was open at some point, as the homeowner said they do tend to leave their garage open for long periods of time when they get home from school with their kids. I took the snake out into the nearby desert and released it into a large packrat nest alongside a small wash. |
