Found a gopher snake hiding in the bush. While attempting to capture the gopher snake, found a kingsnake. Made the customer aware that the bush behind the fountain, on top of a rock in the corner of his yard/house, is not a good idea. Florence | 85132 | Mojave Rattlesnake | The homeowner called about what they thought was a rattlesnake in their backyard. They heard a rattle but never saw the snake. When I arrived, I discovered a decent-sized Mojave rattlesnake curled up between some flower pots. The yard was small, and most of the space was occupied by a pool, but some good hiding spots were still available for even a larger snake such as this one. The snake was released into a rodent burrow at the base of a creosote bush within its estimated home range. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner had her dogs out in her courtyard this morning when they were rattled at by a rattlesnake under a nearby lantana. Her dogs are snake-trained, so they backed away and went inside. She tried to squirt it with a hose and poke it to make it leave, but after a while, when it didn’t budge, she called us. That lantana was the only shady plant in the courtyard and the entire front yard besides the porch. She has a lot of land, but it doesn’t have much on it and is very hot. While searching around, I found a coachwhip shed and a gopher snake shed. The home has some desert around it in between homes with big lots, so it is very hard to access. I went a little further to a more wide-open area for the relocation. |

Cave Creek | 85331 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner was out feeding the horses and saw this Western Diamondback stretched out in front of the barn. By the time I arrived, the snake had moved into a horse stable and taken refuge under a cart. The property was wide open to the desert, so it could have come from anywhere. Once captured, the snake made it clear it was not interested in a ride, as it rattled the entire time up until its release into a pack rat nest. |
