Phoenix 85054 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Homeowner called with snake in garage, or maybe trapped under the garage door. They waited until I arrived and then opened the garage door from the car. A good size western diamondback was right at the entrance as the door opened and I was able to quickly secure it. The snake was relocated into to a huge packrat nest in the nearvy desert habitat.

Cave Creek 85331 Sonoran Gophersnake I arrived at the maintenance yard about 50 minutes from the time the call came in. The landscapers that saw the snake were no longer present. I was told that they had seen a snake disappear into a brush pile near a dumpster. The brush pile was very large and was situated up against two drain holes, each several feet across. I began pulling branches off of the pile one at a time until I finally reached the ground when I saw a gopher snake moving through the remaining brush. I tried several times to grab the snake but was not able to capture it. It likely escaped under the large dumpster next to the brush pile. I contacted the office that called us and explained what I found. She was glad that I found the snake and was relieved it was not a rattlesnake. She said that she would call for the landscapers to come and take care of the brush.

Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was doing yard work when he saw the neonate rattlesnake coiled on a branch of a small bush. He tried to get it with the shovel but it struck at the shovel and he got scared. The snake was unharmed, coiled under the bush. The yard was large with a lot of vegetation and backed up to a desert wash.

Phoenix 85085 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Guests at a community center saw a rattlesnake on a sidewalk that ran through the property. They watched as the snake crawled into a bush near the sidewalk and watched the area until I arrived. I was able to remove the snake and did a quick search of the immediate area but did not find any other snakes. This is a regular customer as the community center borders a large mountain preserve.

Phoenix 85041 Sonoran Gophersnake Yesterday a customer of the extra space storage facility saw what he said to be a rattlesnake in his storage unit. He watched it slither to the one next to his and he took a video. They showed me the video when I arrived, and it was a harmless gopher snake. They still wanted me to check it out. We opened the unit it slithered to first and it was so jammed packed we could barely open the door. We then looked in the unit the guy saw it and the snake was pretty much in the same corner he saw it yesterday. It was a young gophersnake. The storage facility backs up to the salt river bottom and the door aren’t sealed tight. It’s an outdoor storage facility.

Cave Creek 85262 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The home owner called to say he had a rattlesnake stuck in a glue trap in his garage, but it turned out to be a baby gopher snake. He was concerned because they had a rattlesnake in the backyard a week prior that bit the dog. The house is located in an area with lots of open desert. I took the snake home where I used olive oil to remove it from the trap. After observing it to make sure it was doing ok, it was released in the desert with deep cover.

Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Homeowner called about a western diamondback rattlesnake in her backyard. The snake was found by their dog, but the dog was not bitten. Somewhat tough area to relocate, lots of new development and very little desert left. Did find a nice patch of desert that looks to be free of development for the time being and released snake into a very large Packrat nest that was under a Mesquite tree. Cave Creek.

Cave Creek 85331 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake Dispatched a call regarding a snake in back yard next to hot tub under tree. When I contacted the customer they stated they believe they may have 2 snakes. Arrived at home and was escorted into the backyard by customer. They kept an eye on the snakes and pointed out where they were. I noticed two atrox situated against a stucco pillar of the patio cover. There was a VERY large male that was situated on the north side of the pillar and a female situated in the west side. Upon closer inspection I noticed the two were locked together mating. I utilized gentle tongs to first capture the male and when they did not unlock I used a hook to help support the female as I got the two into the bucket. Snakes were both fairly mellow given the situation. The male was large. Very large. It was definitely the biggest atrox I’ve captured while working for RS. Inspected the rest of the yard and no other snakes found. Yard is kept neat and landscaping plants are trimmed well enough for the most part. View fence bordered the yard on the south where there is a desert wash. Customers installed 1/2” mesh along the fence. I don’t believe the snakes came from here but rather the side gate on the west side of the home as this it was adjacent to the access point for the wash. Customers indicated interest in fencing. Given the snakes remained locked in mating I decided to keep them in the bucket and wait until morning to release them.

Phoenix 85045 Tiger Rattlesnake Homeowner called about a rattlesnake curled up under a chair in their backyard. When I arrived, I was surprised to discover that it was a tiger rattlesnake. The home backs right up to the side of a mountain, but the yard is fenced. However, both side gates are not fenced and have small gaps that are likely where the snake entered. I hiked the snake back up a decent bit and found a nice large rock pile, I released the snake on the northern side of the rock pile that way it can choose whether or not it wants to be cool or warm in the coming days and hopefully it can use this rock pile to spend the winter. Phoenix 85085 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner called about a rattlesnake in their backyard. They had seen it take cover under a large pile of bricks along the side wall of the yard. I first tried to flood it out, but that didn’t seem to work as a snake had moved higher up into the bricks, so very carefully started taking the entire pile apart with a shovel until the large western diamondback revealed itself. Recommended the homeowners get rid of all the debris in their yard, as it was an excellent home for packrats. I hike a snake back into the nearby preserve and released it into a large packrat nest at the base of a Palo Verde tree above a wash.

Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowners were surprised to find a rattlesnake coiled up next to their front door. Several years ago, they had a dog that was bitten and unfortunately killed by a rattlesnake, so they were very concerned about the presence of this one. The property was large, and very close to open desert. I had a lot of cover for snakes, mostly from general clutter and some landscaping. The block wall had dozens of open drain holes.

Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was spending time in the backyard with his family and decided to trim up some of the landscaping. He discovered the rattlesnake on the ground under a bush just inches away from where he was trimming. The snake never rattled. It had just eaten something and had a very large belly. The home was near a mountain preserve. The homeowners had attempted to block off the drain holes in the block wall to not let in any rabbits and the snake may not have had an easy escape route after finding its way in.

Phoenix 85085 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake W. L. Gore called about a rattlesnake curled up outside one of their office buildings. The western diamondback looked like he was tucked in for the night. There is a lot of construction going on in this area and a lot of the habitat that the snake likely used in the past is being flattened and developed. Because of this, I had to take the snake a little bit further away than I would like to, but I found it a nice spot of open desert and placed it into the deep cover of a packrat nest right next to a small rock pile.

Peoria 85383 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowners daughter was in the garage and she just spotted the baby rattlesnake coiled under there leaf blower by the garage door. They had a little gap in the corner of the garage when the door was shut and that’s how the snake got in. It had been raining really heavily the last few days and the little one was probably getting out of the flood water. The home had a drainage right beside it that led to a wash and then more desert. There was a lot of construction in this area.

Apache Junction 85119 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner was picking weeds in her front yard when she picked one and noticed a rattlesnake coiled underneath it. The home had desert all around it and was at the base of the Superstition Mountains. She said she lived there thirty years and this was her second snake. She had such a big yard she probably didn’t see most snakes passing by.

Mesa 85207 Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Western Diamondback Rattlesnake The homeowner first noticed the rattlesnake in her backyard. As she was watching it and waiting for me, she saw the rattlesnake go under her gate and out into the natural desert in between her house and the other neighbor‘s house. Her husband went out to see if he could see it, and he saw two rattlesnakes. The two rattlesnakes were fighting, then as he was looking around, he saw a third rattlesnake under another bush. That rattlesnake ended up going in a hole under the bush. I got the two other rattlesnakes under the other bush and tried watering out for the third rattlesnake, but it never came out and I searched the whole area and I could not find it. This home is right off of a golf course with some natural desert in between and they have a little mountain hillside right beside them. It is a rainy day and not hot so the snake had full range to go do what they wanted. Their backyard is a view fence with one gate.
