Phoenix 85045 None They had 3 confirmed rattlesnakes in the back yard 2 nights ago. Very clean yard with little vegetation and no junk etc. They have a grass lawn where the rattlesnakes were found and it was quite wet. I noticed some junk concrete just outside the fence line. It was in the direction they retreated to. I searched under the concrete but found nothing. About 20 feet from the back of the property is a large pallo verde tree with a large pack rat nest. It is a possible estivation site. I was unable to locate any snakes or see any signs of any in the pack rat nest. It was a large nest and I did not excavate the whole nest. I flooded a dozen holes in both the front and back yard with no luck. My guess is that there is an estivation site nearby and they were coming into the yard to get a drink from the irrigated lawn.

Prescott 86301 None Employees report having encountered a baby (between 6-12") diamondback in a common area the previous day. I did the property inspection and found several problem areas throughout the property but no snakes or obvious signs of recent snake activity. The location has plenty of shelter areas, high rodent activity, and water sources as well. When I was explaining what I'd found at the end of the inspection, the client seemed a bit hurried and preferred my writing a report for him rather than explain. It took me just over an hour and I believe he was expecting nothing more than the two of us walking the perimeter to catch anything that might be there. I don't recommend fencing as the property is too large but I did suggest several simple improvements that can be made to reduce the risk of future encounters.
