Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner’s wife was entering the front yard through the side gate. As soon as she stepped through, she accidentally stepped on the snake and quickly retreated back into the backyard. She was not bitten. The husband was alerted and watched the snake for a moment before it found a hose bib to hide beneath. He was able to ensure it stayed in place until I arrived. This is an established neighborhood with an adjacent desert preserve nearby. |

Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake, Sonoran Gophersnake, Kingsnake | Rattlesnake coiled by fountain Arrived and was informed by the client that a diamondback was discovered by the fountain repairman, who would not return until the snake was removed. Captured the diamondback fairly easily. Inspected the boulder behind the fountain, which was covered with vines. Found a bush littered with various snake skins. Found a gopher snake hiding in the bush. While attempting to capture the gopher snake, found a kingsnake. Made the customer aware that the bush behind the fountain, on top of a rock in the corner of his yard/house, is not a good idea. The customer is a longstanding client who is very aware that his property is covered in rattlesnakes and rattlesnake habitat and seems to be okay with that. |

Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called about a baby rattlesnake on the back patio. By the time I arrived, it had crawled up into a small crack in the corner of the house’s foundation. I was able to run a hose for a few minutes and flush it out. The home had a snake fence installed by us about five years ago. The warranty had long since expired, but the fence still looked great. I searched for more snakes and any possible clue as to how this one got in but could not find either. An urgent help ticket for the fence was then created. |

Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Received a dispatch about a rattlesnake under table on front porch. Arrived to the property and met customers at the front porch where they were watching the snake. Snake was stretched out underneath a patio table with its back half exposed. Used tongs to capture snake with no issue. Inspected the rest of the front yard and backyard with no other snakes found. House is first house off of a large culvert with tons of rock pile for erosion control. Pointed this area out to customers as it was no doubt where the snake came from. Customer stated it’s the first rattlesnake they’ve seen since living there for 3 years. |

Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | This was a new community, just being built. The construction workers ran into a rattlesnake inside one of the homes. The home didn’t have walls yet, so it was open and easy for the snake just to slither in and coil up for the day. This home had the preserve right across the street, but behind the home were several other new homes that had just been built. |

Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowners daughter was in the garage and she just spotted the baby rattlesnake coiled under there leaf blower by the garage door. They had a little gap in the corner of the garage when the door was shut and that’s how the snake got in. It had been raining really heavily the last few days and the little one was probably getting out of the flood water. The home had a drainage right beside it that led to a wash and then more desert. There was a lot of construction in this area. |

Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowners were surprised to find a rattlesnake coiled up next to their front door. Several years ago, they had a dog that was bitten and unfortunately killed by a rattlesnake, so they were very concerned about the presence of this one. The property was large, and very close to open desert. I had a lot of cover for snakes, mostly from general clutter and some landscaping. The block wall had dozens of open drain holes. |

Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner was spending time in the backyard with his family and decided to trim up some of the landscaping. He discovered the rattlesnake on the ground under a bush just inches away from where he was trimming. The snake never rattled. It had just eaten something and had a very large belly. The home was near a mountain preserve. The homeowners had attempted to block off the drain holes in the block wall to not let in any rabbits and the snake may not have had an easy escape route after finding its way in. |

Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Homeowner called about a western diamondback rattlesnake in his backyard. The snake was moving along the perimeter wall until it curled up in a corner. Home backs right up to the open desert. The homeowner had done his own snake fencing, but the mesh is not tight enough, and there are still gaps through the side gates. Snake had a lot of options for cover, yard was small but had a lot of stuff. Recommended trimming up bushes and clearing some debris. Took snake to a patch of desert nearby and released it into a packrat nest. Peoria. |

Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | When the homeowner was trying to get in his car in the garage, he heard a rattle. He looked over and saw the rattlesnake on top of some boxes up against the garage wall. The garage didn’t have very big gaps not big enough for this snake to squeeze through so it must’ve come in when the door was open at some point. The home had a rocky hillside behind it and a lot of desert just across the street. |

8:30 PM |
Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner was surprised to find a very young Western Diamondback coiled up in the middle of her fully enclosed entryway. The snake likely found its way in through a small gap in the weatherstrip under the exterior door. This home was situated near native desert and a large drainage, but was surrounded by homes was several lots deep into the neighborhood. The back yard was heavily landscaped with a water feature and was surrounded on all sides by view fencing making for easy access to the adjacent properties. I searched around the front and back yard but did not find any other snakes. |

Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Homeowner called with a report of a rattlesnake in the rear yard. The homeowners son kept an eye on it until I arrived. I was able to quickly contain the snake without incident. Per homeowner, this is the 2nd rattlesnake and 3rd snake visitor in a short period. I advised the homeowner to trim all the low bushes from the ground up to reduce cover. The homeowner and homeowners daughter have requested information for fencing and avoidance training for the dog. |

1:30 PM |
Peoria | 85383 | Sonoran Gophersnake | The homeowner called about a Sonoran Gophersnake hiding in some of the landscaping in his backyard. This home was situated in a typical Peoria neighborhood, with many small drainages running throughout. He told me that he usually gets one or two Gophersnakes per year, but never any rattlesnakes. The snake likely came in through one of the block drains or under the gap under the gate. |

Peoria | 85383 | Southwestern Speckled Rattlesnake | The homeowners called us after seeing a rattlesnake in the shade of a raised wooden planter on the side of their house. After capturing the snake, I checked the rest of the yard for additional snakes but found none. This home in Peoria is near several large rocky hills, but development is quickly encroaching on the native habitat. The yard was very clean with well-groomed landscaping. The best way in or out is from a view fence that overlooks a rocky man-made drainage. The homeowners would like to be contacted about snake fencing. |

Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Whilst cleaning up the rear yard, the homeowner noticed a juvenile western diamondback coiled near a block wall. Peoria | 85383 | None | The homeowner called to have a kingsnake removed. The bush that the snake was seen entering was observed until I arrived, however, it managed to move on. A very thorough search of the backyard turned up no snake. I have advised the client that I will return for no charge if she sees it again today. |

2:00 PM |
Peoria | 85383 | Sonoran Gophersnake | The homeowner was startled when she saw a gophersnake in her backyard near her pool. In a panic, but not intending to harm the snake, she managed to trap it by pinning its tail under the foot of a lawn chair. When I arrived, the snake was still pinned. The chair was not heavy, and it had only pinched the very end of the tail leaving a small impression. Holding the snake, I was able to get a closer look at its tail. There were no lesions or bleeding, and the snake was acting quite normal. The home is in a Peroia neighborhood situated very close to a mountain preserve, with several natural drainages running through out. The back yard had a pool, but no landscaping or irrigation. There was a typical arrangement of patio furniture, potted plants, and a grill. Gaps under and around her gate as well as a drain in the block wall were plenty big enough for a snake twice its size to easily enter or exit. The homeowner was interested in having these entry points covered with snake fencing. I searched the rest of the property and did not find any other snakes. |

8:00 PM |
Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowners children saw a snake in their backyard and alerted their parents. Being new to the area, they called us, sent a picture for an ID, and had us out to remove it. The neonate western diamondback more than likely accessed the yard from underneath the gate as there was a solid 2” gap. The back view fence would also allow passage but this guy was too small to get over it. Quick capture and released nearby into a hole under a bush. |

6:00 PM |
Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | The homeowner called after his kids had spotted a rattlesnake in their garage. The kids were home alone at the time, and a neighbor waited with them until I arrived. The snake was just inside the garage door, and it was immediately captured. The garage was packed full of boxes and miscellaneous, common items, and if the snake had not been waiting out in the open, it would have been extremely difficult to locate and capture. The home was located in a North Peoria development very close to a large wash and bordered by steep, rocky hills. The neighbor mentioned to me that he often noticed the garage left open for long periods of time. I thoroughly searched the garage, front and back yard but did not find any other snakes. |

Peoria | 85383 | Sonoran Gophersnake | The caller reported a large rattlesnake in her rear yard. Unfortunately, she lost track of the snake. I was able to locate the snake during the inspection. It had come to rest/hide in a void in the cinderblock wall. I was unable to get an in-situ photo due to the low light in the void. No other snakes were recovered. I advised the client to trim the bushes and address the rodent activity to reduce attractiveness of the yard to reptiles. |

Peoria | 85383 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | A contractor at a new home build discovered a small rattlesnake on the side of the home in the shade under an AC drain line. The home was being built at a new golf course community not far from open, native desert. As always, I took a look around the rest of the property. The backyard was virtually empty. There was a pool, but no mature landscaping yet. There was a view fence with a very low footer separating the yard from the golf course. I did not find any other snakes, but I did leave our snake id/fence information behind for the homeowner when they move in. |

Peoria | 85382 | Longnosed Snake, Longnosed Snake | Baby longnose. Snake was found in the house dining room. Identified as nonvenomous over the phone with photo. Snake suffered mortal wound, nearly completely severed about 1/3 from head. It was a very small snake. Homeowners accidentally crushed it trying to contain it when it started to move. They were very sad and apologetic. The person who injured it (husband) was not the person I was speaking to (wife) and I think that contributed to the accident. I am letting the snake pass in a comfortable space. :( I searched laundry room and garage for them as well and saw no other evidence of snakes or rodents. Made fencing removal and showed them how we relocated the snakes. Snake is gorgeous, tiny, and so cute - very sad :( |

Peoria | 85382 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | Rattlesnake in beautiful backyard with an extensive collection of pots, irrigation, planted foliage, and a small pond. Homeowners kept dead leaves on the ground purposely to aid in keeping the ground and plant roots cooler. Lots of opportunities for native wildlife. They luckily did have a block wall surrounding their property. 1 drainage hole noted, one corner where there was a large gap between his neighbor's property and theirs, and 1 side gate that was unsuccessfully blocking snakes out with bricks. They are interested in seeing the cost of snake proofing this property but also may opt to do better with their own DIY efforts. Snake was easily found and relocated. The rest of the backyard was checked and no other snakes found. |

Surprise | 85378 | Western Diamondback Rattlesnake | A woman called about a rattlesnake coiled up on the side of her house. She was afraid she would lose sight of it as it started to move through some old boxes stored outside. It ended up hiding inside a narrow, square box until I arrived. I moved the box with my tongs to an open area and gently tipped it until the snake came out. I was then able to get it into the bucket. I performed a full walk-around of the yard, which had lots of cover, clutter, and water sources from a pool and irrigation, but no other snakes were found. The snake likely entered through the gate or the poorly screened drainage hole in the wall. The property bordered the eastern side of the Agua Fria River bed. |
